When I say "One-Box-Drop" I'm referring to those carry cases that GW supplies for you to store your minis when you want to take them from home to the FLGS.
And the fact that you can't always fit everything you need in there, and end up having to bring along a biscuit tin/plastic bag/second carry case containing your vehicles etc.

I have that problem, and two carry cases. So yesterday evening I hacked away at the foam of one of the boxes to see how much I could get in there. The answer was a Vindicator, a Predator, a Land Raider and a Daemon Prince, along with some spare autogun cultists.

In the other box, I shoved my HQ's and infantry.

Noting the lack of practicality involved in transporting both boxes and my Heldrake (which has to be carried by hand, else the neck/wings snap off, I decided to see how much of a list I could make out of my infantry box alone...

The list is as follows:

-Lord Pyros Deathwish [230 pts].......(Typhus)
-Chaos Lord w/MoN, Power sword, Plasma pistol [110 pts]
-Plague Zombies w/+25 [150 pts]
-Plague Zombies w/+25 [150 pts]
-Plague Marines w/+2, 2x plasma guns [198 pts]
-Plague Marines w/+2, 2x meltaguns [188 pts]
-CSM w/+5, Flamer, Missile Launcher [160 pts]
-Havocs w/+2, 3x Missile Launcher, Lascannon [166 pts]
-2x Obliterators w/VotLW [146 pts]

[1,498 pts]

This won't be competitive, and I don't want any suggestions, but I'd be interested to see how any of you would do with just one box of models alone, and how that compares to what I've got...

Once upon a time I wrote army lists that were dependent on fitting everything into a single small carry case, now its almost impossible to fit an army into one large carry case.
(For the record Im happy to have logistical issues for the cooler kits)

Now I suppose a draigowing would fit in a single case, but thats about it

I do a lot of air travel for business and I like to be able to play 40k during my down time in new and interesting places. This means I have to fit ALL of my models in a single Pelican case. I had Bryan from Outrider Hobbies custom make foam for me. The foam case has 48 slots. I have been using:

HQ
Chaos Lord with Terminator Armor, Burning Brand, Blight Grenades, and Mark of Nurgle: 155

Or: Chaos Lord (65) w/ Sigil (25), Power Axe and Lightning Claw (30), MoN (15), Blight Grenades (5), Melta Bombs (5), and VotLW on the Havocs (8) – 153 points

Troops
7 Plague Marines, 2 Melta Guns, Power Axe and Melta Bombs: 208
7 Plague Marines, 2 Plasma Guns, and Melta Bombs: 203

Alternatively, my 27-man Deathwing army fits into a single Chessex case and also travels very well.

Well I can fit a 1500pt force in max. Normally consists of hammerhead, Skyray, couple of broadsides, 5-6 crisis suits. 20-30 fire warriors, 10 pathfinders, riptide and a couple of characters. Although I do like to leave the riptide in a separate container. But when I go travelling for tournies I wrap it in bubble and wedge it inside lol

Pah, rookies! My 1750 point BA army fits in a lunchbox I got with a PS3 game.

I can fit the following in a standard GW carry case, though:

Farseer on jetbike

3 Jetbikes

2 Wave Serpents

10 Dire Avengers

6 Vypers

1 Crimson Hunter

4 War Walkers

1 Wraithknight


Of course, two of the trays are replaced with toilet paper, but still...
