My meta is not super competitive lists 24/7. A chaos player might only bring 2 helldrakes, an elder player maybe 6 skimmers, and a tau player one or possibly 2 riptides, so I am not having to min/max my lists all the time. Trying some new stuff like the ironclad in the pod, and eschewing my usual staples of chaptermaster on bike with shield eternal, artificer and a thunderhammer, as well as a command squad with 4x grav and an apothecary, for some speeders and a stalker. There always seems to be a decent amount of flyers, and skimmers, and I feel comfortable hiding a 75 point unit for a turn or two till its best targets present themselves from reserves.

What do you think? Semi competitive or back to the drawing board.?

Or do you think I could chance leaving the centurions on foot, and replacing the raider with my usual chapter master of beatstickedness?

If this was my list I'd swal the speeders and stalker for another talon and tfc. Then I'd swap the 3 man bike squad and ironclad for more scoring units. Possibly scouts in lss. That's just my opinion though.

I just posted in a similar thread the need for scoring boots on the ground. I see so many white scars lists with all bikes as troops. Aren't higher level objectives a concern?

Put your objectives in their deployment zone, on the ground floor or near as many tall ruins as you can. They cant place theirs up top within 12 inches. problem mostly solved.

Hey Orock that sounds reasonable. Have you had luck with it? I remember you posted on my list a few days back that you have a single storm with scouts for objective grabbing. Just interested as to why you've changed your tactic. We're the not working out?

Nah its just one of those units I always uss, like the chapter master and command squad. Thought I would try out stuff I don't use often/ever.

That's fair enough. No worries

While claiming those high level objectives can technically be a problem, I've found that you can either kill their unit on the objective or just claim a different objective. Taking a mediocre unit for such an off-chance isn't worth it, especially considering how fragile it is.
