Be warned, InControl and Frankie us a lot of adult humor in this one, but it is pretty dang funny! Another battle showcasing our Mega Mats! In this one, Tyranids vs. Chaos!

Cool list. I don't think I have ever heard of or seen a list like that.

That is quite the glowing recommendation of the mat...I am assuming it is easy to clean and you disinfected the mat after they had their "cheese-fest" all over it?

You know the next step will be finding a red barn and cows for your pasture mat.

I didn't really care for the "3d-in-2d" look of the crater mat, but this one looks really good IMO. Fun game too, even if it's one you might not want to show your young ones

What someone online on the other side of the world that you've never met says should never deter you from taking a unit for being either weak or OP. The community is a great place to come for tactics advice, and there is a lot of very sound opinions and idea out there, but at the end of the day, play the game how you want to... Don't worry about the hordes of Dakka descending on your gaming club to arrest you for taking one heldrake or not using a screamerstar. Knowing the standard opinion (and that's all it is) on what is good/bad and conforming to that opinion religiously are two entirely separate things.

Got the chance to say hi to Geoff two days ago at Dreamhack. Cool guy and never ending jokes when he was casting the games with Apollo.

Really nice batrep and I do like the mats!

@ansacs

Haha, yes, easily disinfected!

Frankie wanted to try an MTO Chaos list and it worked fairly well, actually. He enjoyed playing it a lot and is considering fleshing it out some more.

@Talore

Not every design is for everyone, no doubt. That's why we make a lot of options =)

@Fenric

Yeah, Geoff is funny as hell, he and Frankie together are a riot.

Glad you enjoyed the battle and the mats!

I think Geoff should have kept his flyrant back until the maulerfiends advanced, or even flew him off of the table. Then he could have used the flyrant's mobility later on in the game to hunt Frankie's weak troops or even shot the fiends up in their rear armor. Get it, penetrating rear armor? Oh man when will this innuendo stop .

Nice report, and the mat looks nice, Reece will you be using these at vegas for the LVO? I'm really considering going to that now, despite knowing nothing about the forgeworld meta.

Haha yeh man wouldn't mind chatting a bit more next DH but I do realise it's a busy time for you with tons of fans+your job to do.

Also like the hairdo of you and Shaun on what was it friday night?

Must say for a Sc2 fan Dh is amazing. Go to the bathroom and there's Jaedong. Go to the trainstation on the sunday there's the whole liquid team. I don't even bring a computer to Dreamhack me and my friends just go to meet people and watch the games.

Nice batrep, keep 'em coming!

I agree, iNcontrol should have fired those devourers at the rear armor of those maulerfiends and took them out while the hive guard shot them down from the other side.

I will say it's pretty obvious that he has quickly picked up the nuances of the game, and learning that the movement phase is integral to a cc army's success. No surprise given his background.

Now here's hoping that when (if?) we get our new book next month it's not Mono-build as it currently is. I would like to use warriors, lictors, venomthropes, etc and not as a joke list.

Been out of the game for awhile, trying to find time to get back into it.

I just pray tot he Emperor that the new Nids can shut down the psychic deathstars that seriously suck the fun out of the game right now.

Burn the witch! haha

With the amount of supplements being added it would be nice to get a "Dark Millenium" style expansion giving us a proper Psychic phase.

I'm not sure if I should be happy about those mats or turned on.

I have to say, that SL is bar none the luckiest SOB I have ever seen. Don't get me wrong, I love my SL but he normally gets his arse shot off the board or ignored in every game I have played him in.

@Eldarian

It seems to be going back to 2nd ed in a lot of ways, I wouldn't be surprised if they did release a digital Dark Millennium product with all the psychic powers or something similar.

@Roci

But the mats are so Sexy! hahah

Yeah, Geoff has been getting crazy good results with his smary. Mine tends to do really well, too. He either gets smoked turn 1, or he rampages across the battlefield.

Actually psychic death stars are one reason I wouldn't mind seeing D weapons in regular 40K...death star meat; 10-7" blast, ID, ignore cover, AP2/1, and ignore invulnerable...bye.

Yeah, hahaha, we were talking about that on the podcast! Maybe bringing in even more redonculous stuff to the game is the key?!

He only has, and only desires, to play Nids =P

I give it 6-9 months tops before he gets the itch for army number 2!

Reece are you forgetting the new codex? So codex releases, InControl buys more nids to tweak to new codex...works...gets them painted and assembled...suffers health issues due to super glue poisoning...then gets the itch in 6 months. That's like a year at least!

Things could change when the new codex drops... You never know. It's great to be able to win consistently with an army, and he is new to the game. I'd be impressed if he could produce the same results with another army and I don't mean to take away from his success.

@Ansacs

He's already got us painting 30 Gargoyles =P

And yes, he and I are both pumped for Nids (I love Nids, too) and everyone is hoping they do something to shut down the stupid Psychic Deathstars!

@Dozer

He picks it up quick, but he is still really new to the game. I bet he would do fine, but he has no desire to switch right now. Eventually every 40K player gets another army though, so I remain patient =)

Also Nids are getting a new codex and probably with it new shinies. Really no reason to Switch right now Also You can do just about anything with Nids.
