So, with the Advent of Bel'akor being such a beatstick, I figured I would tweak my list somewhat. Here is what I got.

2000 Pts - Codex: Necrons Roster

1 Destroyer Lord, Sempiternal Weave+ Mindshackle Scarabs

5 Warriors,
1 Night Scythe,
5 Warriors,
1 Night Scythe,

10 Immortals,

6 Canoptek Acanthrites,

1 Annihilation Barge
1 Annihilation Barge,

1 Sentry Pylon Battery, 0
1 Sentry Pylon, Sepulchral Scarabs
1 Sentry Pylon, Sepulchral Scarabs
1 Sentry Pylon, Sepulchral Scarabs

Allied Detachment: CSM

Bel'akor
12 Chaos Cultists

Hits right at 1998.

My thoughts:

Ancanthrites are incredibly good, especially with the meta being so focused on volume of fire. In this respect, they do better than Wraiths. They still have plenty of Melee power, to handle everything except dedicated close combat units. The Sentry Pylons are excellent units. They deal with enemy aircraft easy, and with their range they can reach across and shoot anything on the board. They are also very resilient, especially with Sepulchral Scarabs, giving them IWND.

Bel'akor is pretty self explanatory. He's a massive beatstick, that will hit enemy lines turn 2, and is incredibly hard to take down. The Chaos cultists are the mandatory troops choice that just hide somewhere in the game.

The Weakness: I'm light on troops. Keeping the warriors safe in the Night Scythes is very important. The Immortals are a very resilient firing base though. 10 Tesla Carbines is no joke, and with a 3+ save and 5+ RP they should stick around for a while.

For those that are curious about the rules http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Downloads/Product/PDF/a/acanthrite.pdf are the Ancanthrite rules, except they now cost 5 points more.

Belakor is so yesterday. Today is all about tau detatchments allowing you to take a riptide and 3 broadsides all with armor bane and preferred enemy space marines.

warhammer 40k mmo. If I can drive an ork trukk into the back of a space marine dread and explode in a fireball of epic, I can die happy!

I dig it man.

How do you normally run with those Immortals? Backfield scoring more or less?
