Not sure where else to post this, can anybody give me the dimensions of the landing pad? If you're looking at from the top down, how wide is it? I'm trying to design a battle field for a friend.

Thanks in advance

No, but what I *can* do is link you something relevant (not sure exactly what/how you get the landing pad battlezone here though) - the new Landing Pad Battlezone from the recently released Deadzone kickstarter that's just started arriving to backers which is, imo, ridiculously awesome, not to mention a great price, modular, and high quality plastic.

But but... I blame headlag induced by not enough coffee.

Drink tea. Tea is better for you. It also has more caffeine then coffee does.

On second look, that landing pad is rather nice.

The great thing is, it's modular - you can combine multiple landing pad sets, or combine it with fortification, core, damaged sets and get unique, large, small, awesome, whatever you want ; ) Deadzone is only just out so we haven't even scratched the surface of the awesomeness we can get with it yet. So yeah, I really like it heheh... good thing, since I have a *lot* of it coming ; p

I can tell you what the main part of the landing pad's dimensions are (the folding doohickies were left off mine).

anding pad is an irregular** octagon (the corner sides are shorter than the main sides).
It's 298mm across the main platform - add 90mm for the folding bits extended or 12mm when folded up.
The side lengths are 156mm (long sides) and 99mm (short corners).
Measurement centre to long edge is 149mm and 160mm to short edges.
Height: 85mm bottom of supports to top of platform. 130mm with sides folded up.

Thank you chromedog. This was very helpful. I'm designing a battlefield on graph paper first so i was wanting to get crroect dimensions. I guess I wasn't clear in the OP, it did kind of sound like the skyshield itself was going to be the battleground. Thanks for the info, have a lovely day.

Is it possible to roughly match the Skyshield with the Mantic set?

They aren't even the same size.

Mantic's one is based around 3"x3" pieces.

That "landing pad" above is therefore only a 9" or so diameter - 3x 3" and the GW one is closer to 12".

The mantic one does look more like a replacement for Necro bulkheads than anything else - which were GW's best ever terrain idea.
