Subject: Rules for Leman russ, or a possible return of a primarch ?

for those of you who at white dwarf daily, the new video, as we all noticed it has a spacewolves theme, or just cristmas, but the book was also spacewolves based, and it says, new rules and background, so that implies that theres a knew adition to a codex, and the spacewolves haven't got there new dex yet, and russ never died, and he says he will return
the traliar says a ancient evil will rise, and a anciant warrior returns form the shadows, now, the name "the warp" is often afiliated with shadows "shadows of the warp" and the first picture shows a stone shadow, it looks more dark agnle like, but i would assume they would use metal, but spacewolves use stone and carvings rarther than modern tech, then it shows a artificer bolt pistol with viking runes of sorts, and the hand looks different to a normal power armour hand

I think the video hints at rules for Cypher.

And a new model too (assuming it is Cypher). I don't recall his bolt pistol having that level of detail on it.

Yeah, it's most likely Cypher.
Also, those aren't runes, just normal letters. Can't tell what the first like says, but the second line (almost) definitely says Mortis.
DA use stone statues, too. One of their thing is stone architecture on their tanks (and landspeeders)

I can't see GW rereleasing the old, old OLD Leman Russ model , especially when FW are busily working on a HH series that includes rules and models of all the known primarchs.

Feels like Cypher to be honest. Since he was absent from Codex Chaos Marines update. Maybe some rules for having general Fallen in your armies?

Well, depends if you think Cypher qualifies as a Fallen.... Automatically Appended Next Post: In fact, would be brilliant for a Kill-team list if it is Cypher. Could make a good 'Fallen' Kill team

How about Super-Heavy vehicles in 40K?
I'm 100% OK with Primarchs in games of 40K, since we basically already have rules for it anyway.

Angron actually had 40k rules for the War for Armegeddon. I don't recall any other primarchs, though.

I'm leaning toward Cypher with a much smaller possiblity of Scout Sergeant Namaan (he also could be associated with the DA heraldry and carries a Bolt Pistol with a banana-clip).

yeah but they were crap, and angron isn't that important. There's a big difference between angron trolling around the warp, and a loyalist primarch returning to the imperium. The latter would have a massive impact on pretty much all imperium fluff after he returned, since the whole grimdark thing would be a bit lighter.

...and that would be awesome!
However, IF a loyal Primarch 'returns', the gak will have certainly hit the fan for the Imperium, possibly the Emperor is 'truly dead', the Astonomicon is out, etc. etc.
So I think GW could keep the Grimdark as dark, if not even darker...IF a loyal Primarch returns...

Russ returning from the warp would imply the timeline moving forward.
If you have followed 40k since its inception, or at least the birth of the 'modern' universe in 2nd edition in the early 90's, you would know that's not going to happen!
Russ went into the warp to "do some stuff" (I think that's the official quote), and that's the last we will ever see of him, short of his Heresy-era incarnation.

Good point - I would really like to see the timeline move forward though - Emperor dies, is reborn, loyal Primarchs that can return actually do return, Tau are eliminated completely, Necrons too, etc. etc.

If they ever do move the timeline forward, they'll do it without destroying any factions, probably. .......probably (they could always squat another one but they'd presumably have an out-of-story reason for that, like they did with the squats)
But yea, I doubt the primarchs reappearing would be in a lighter setting, mainly because by the time they reappear, things would probably be much WORSE to necessitate their appearance in the first place (which the setting is clearly at least foreshadowing towards)

I was kidding about destroying the Tau and Necrons - at least from the perspective that I know GW would never do that.
