Does anyone have any idea how to go about printing gold on decals? is this even possible?

Short of buying a metallic printer you'd have to get a print shop that has one to do it. That or paint the metallic parts by hand on the decal paper and then sealing it with spray acrylic.

Many of todays color printors can do a reasonable facsimile of gold, but you may need to print the decal on a white sheet depending on the base paint color your applying the decal on.
A light color like sky blue, pink, or white may allow clear to be used (YMMV), but darker colors like Purple, Red, and black will need the white .

You can also try adding gloss varnish over the top of the print out - you can also get "clear glitter" to paint over the top to give it some sparkles as well - no idea what that would look like but it is an idea

Here's a real quick job on a gold decal, printed on white placed on black. Its supposed to be the Hawk Lords symbology. This was several years ago, my first attempt at making and placing decals, so in these closeups some of the white decal paper shows through and I did not do a final sealing coat over the model. Live and learn.

I was thinking of using ornaments from DaFont on a decal sheet and print it out in shiny metallic gold to add some filigree detail to my models without having to do endless brushwork,
so painting the decal is out. I'll look into metallic printing.
