This is my first attempt at this. I like Escalation. Although the Stompa is heavy on price at 770 points most of my 2K went to that big boy but hey, that's what its about isn't it.

Whoa, 65 views and nothing? Reason I am asking for a look is I haven't played any Apoc games at all. So, never really gotten the chance to work the numbers or understand how the Stompa works. I mean I have played games and I understand how it works, I just curious for those that have played Apoc what I could tweak here. I know it's not Apoc, but, I would imagine from reading through Escalation, that it will be a pain pealing off HPs to get a Lord of War to fall.
On a side note, has anyone played a Escalation game yet?

I haven't but am planning on using a stompa with my grot army, your list sounds credible but I personally will be trying it out with zagstruk and maybe a snikrot ambush to get into cc while the opponent tries to hide from the stompa

I was thinking about Snikrot, on a side note on that, I have read a lot of flack about using Kommando's in general because you can't charge the first turn you arrive. So, being that you get first turn say, then you shoot, then you have to allow the enemy to shoot and/or assault and then you got another round of shooting with overwatch. IMHO, they really need to allow them to charge the first turn they arrive or that unit will get chewed up a little before it can get into assault? Thoughts?

Honestly, I wouldn't expect to fare well if (or rather, when) I field my own Stompa, because of the advantages that the opponent gets (if he doesn't go with his own big gun that is). So in my opinion, you should really just say "zog it" and field with whatever the hell you want with it.
Plus, nob bikers have been said to be pretty powerful (even if the painboy's in the other nob mob and the lack of power klaws) so you're sorta good there. However, you might think about fielding a few Klaws with the biker nobs, in case that they have to go up against something nasty that their big choppas can't do (like a Land Raider or something like that. Basically anything that your Stompa haven't shot up or chopped to bits yet).
All in all, it seems good to me (except that I might dump the bikes for another mob of orks, and make all of the mobs to 30 lads, but that's just me).

Thanks for the advice, I have made a few changes to the original list adding more PKs...

I'd honestly say the Nobs in the Stompa and the Dread are a waste of points.
MANz if you want to carry hard hitters.
And if you take Lootas or Burnas and load them into the stompa, you can take meks and give it a whole lot of repair rolls.
Or of course, just go with what you like lol

They can be ok with a mega armour boss or bike boss but are really just there to burn and shoot heavy support and force a reaction. Hopefully the new dex fixes this issue of no charge.
After a few days of people reacting I'm thinking 5 lootas, 5 Burma's both with 3 Meks is the way to go, dash of anti air then footslogging boyz and grots like it was 2nd ed is the way to go. Automatically Appended Next Post: Big mek with KFF and maybe one with SAG in the beast with the elites would be fun too.
I will play test soon against some eldar with titan and see how it goes, hopefully I can take it down in time with the stompa and zag while the Meks repair before it goes boom and it all ends turn 2.
