I was wondering if a space marine tactical squad spam would work? How it would work? What i should give them in terms of load outs? What kind of units should i take with them? Etc... Thanks

I've done it, to great effectiveness.

My preferred recipe is Salamander chapter tactics, full squads, and drop pods. I combat squad most of the time. Flamer, Multimelta, with a combi-melta, lightning claw, and melta bombs on the sarge. For tactics regarding multiple units on the drop, you can check out this tactics article here.

I like to back them up with a Land Raider with Assault Termies and Vulkan inside. Really, I've won many games with just the Vulkan-Termie-Land Raider plus as many Tactical squads as I could fit. You'll usually have a few points left over, but there's some really cheap options to fill those out. Attack bikes, Land Speeders, and a Librarian are all good gap-fillers, and if you have 95 points to spend, you can get a drop pod assault squad with two flamers.

Another possibility is Lascannon/Plasmagun squads with Red Scorpions tactics to make all the sergeants into apothecaries.

Black Templar las/plas crusader squads with las/plas backs.

For sheer tac marine power? UM tactics, Calgar as warlord. No contest.

They are my bulwark against the Terror. They are the Defenders of Humanity. They are my Space Marines, and they shall know no fear.

More limited but more troops try a heresy tactical list. 1500 points, 4 squads of 20 tactical marines, power wpn and melta on the sgts, each with an apothecary, and led by consul and a few points left to spare for minor upgrades. Most armies don't have the fire power to down 85 feel no pain marines.

If you dont short hand your list, Im not reading it.
Example: Assault Intercessors- x5 -Thunder hammer and plasma pistol on sgt.
or Assault Terminators 3xTH/SS, 2xLCs
For the love of God, GW, get rid of reroll mechanics. ALL OF THEM!

Run a Seige Vanguard list from the Badab War with Red Scorpion CT and give all your tactical squads boring shields for re-rollable saves against shooting leaving you with multiple 10 man tactical squads all with re-rollable 3+ saves and 5+ FNP! These squads will basically never die!

I've run something like this quite a bit recently, I think the most I've used was 5 tac squads in a 1500 game. It can work very well against armies that rely on 5+ saves and numbers, as Tac marines can mow through the likes of guardsmen and gants as fast as anything, while being fairly cheap.

In terms of squad setups, I like the following loadouts:

HB/Flamer/Combi-flamer in a pod. 2 templates on the drop, HB can be dropped but I have it around for fluff reasons. This is a neat anti-infantry unit.

Melta/combi-melta/MM in a pod. As above, but against vehicles.

Las/plas in a Rhino. Good AP2 shooting and works nicely with a razorback.

ML/Flamer, cheap and cheerful. Don't expect wonders, but pretty reliable and not a huge investment.

In terms of supporting units, I like Sternguard in a super-tac squad role, bolstering the gunline or DP assault, and AM for counter-charge purposes. Vehicles in HS work well with Rhino lists, but for a foot list you're more likely to want Devs and TFC.

Regarding CT, Ultras for versatility, IF for reliability, IH for survivability, Sallies for offence.
