I have been looking for something that I can make into Buildings/Ruins for Warhammer 40k, I'm not talking about those fancy-looking things for GW, I just want something simple and ultilitarian, a depopulated town of cement shacks, only a couple floors in height, now I'm rambling, but does anyone know something I could use?

Polystyrene or foam core bord are both very easy to work with. You can either just build a self standing building or stick it on some fibreboard if you want to create a footprint for it with extra details.

I was going to go for self standing, so I can move them around in more ways.

I am a big fan of converting old toys that I find at garage sales. Fisher price parking garages and airports are fun. Also craft stores often have cheap unpainted wooden buildings that can be modified.
