so, I am looking at reading Fear to Tread or Descent of Angels in the next few days, and was wondering what DakkaDakkas thoughts as to which is the better book is.

Descent of Angels was the book that made me quit wanting to read the Horus Heresy.

Descent of angels and fallen angels made me love the dark angels all that much more.

If you don't like the dark angels you won't like descent of angels

The actual storylines of the Dark Angels Heresy books are relatively solid. The problems, as I see them, are mostly just in the actual writing mechanic- the authors who wrote those books don't have the best prose, and the result of that is that the books can really feel dull at some points.

If you're a Dark Angels fan, though, I'd say go ahead and read 'em. Not a whole lot you can lose.

Recently finished Fear To Tread and The First Heretic, and seriously recommend them both.

I'm a fan of Blood Angels, so I immediately liked the depiction of Sanguinius in FtT. Very personal look at the primarch.

Was never a huge fan of the Word Bearers, but having read TFH, I now want to play ALL THE APOSTATES. Fantastic read.

War Kitten- Nothing evens the odds like a reaper chainsword to the naughty bits
Sgt. Vanden- And now I'm a whale with panties. Can't see how this day can get any better.

Fiction: God-Fang (Beastmen) / The Flayed Legion (CSM)
