So, with C:I ruining scout moves, making the khorndogs a bit crappy and Escalation ruining soul grinders and the screamer star with D-weapons (ofc not in tournaments that don't allow escalation or the other supplement), what is there basically left for a competitive tournament list for daemons. Ofc FMC spam was pretty much unaffected by the changes, so there's that, but it get's boring playing the same list over and over again. I have usually switched my list from tournament to tournament, but now it seems i'm forced to play the same 5x FMC + 2x10 troop daemon list over and over again if i want to stay competitive. Ofc there is now Be'Lakor to play with, but that drops Fateweaver out of the list as a warlord, and that may hurt the random crap table rolls too much? I want to hear other ideas for list building, but want to keep it pure Daemons. For some reason, when allying in some CSM to get a prince, a few cultists and a heldrake just has not brought the same kind of focus than a pure daemons list has. Ofc YMMW, and there is the possibility to ally in Be'Lakor with some cultists, but in 1850pts lists (the norm for tournaments where i play) there isn't enough points to fit that in usually. So, have people been toying around with some new ideas with daemons, or should we just retire to the warp and face the fact that Taudar own this edition?

I totally disagree, I have had great success with my mono nurgle against triptides, taudar, and serp spam, while ignoring cover does hurt it simply isn't enough to deal with the sheer amount of units I field, I have wholeheartedly taken on board the fact that deamons are a horde army aswell.

What kind of nurgle list do you play? I am thinking of expanding my daemons to the field of rot, as i don't own hardly any nurgle units yet :O

Horde daemons is the daemon way.

Take dudes, and them more dudes, followed by, well, dudes!

Favorite trick right now: Take 2 units of whatever with icon and instrument. Have great unclean one. Roll for both troops to pull GUO on turn 2 from reserve on no roll. Drop one troop unit, scatter, then drop other unit within 6 of icon, no scatter, then drop GUO within 6 of an icon, no scatter.

I'm in your base, being fat and ugly.

I'm fairly certain the OP is speaking in regards to D-weapons and super-heavies, especially the Revenant.

Yes. FMC builds were and will be one of the best builds against new escalation rules.

Pretty much as usual "Fun" vs "Win at all costs". What do you choose.

If money and models are not an issue, I'd look towards Slaanesh. 60 Seekers are fast (and unlike khorne dogs, don't rely on scout) and suprisingly good at taking down what's popular atm. You can build a large table presence and the longer bases can minimize the effects of blast weapons. These lists just tend to suffer from a lack of anti-air options, which comes with FMCs. As a side note, I doubt we'll see a general allowance of escalation in Finland, since FW is generally banned and we can't even take landing pads!

I wonder what's wrong with my country flag...

Actually, with Chaos you have the option of taking FW FGCs.

Watched someone play An’ggrath in a couple games today. The only thing that stopped them from being 2 turns apiece was the fact An’ggrath had to charge whatever was in range.

But he killed a Baneblade and a Chaos Warhound Titan in one round each. WS 10 STR 10 with something over 10 attacks on the charge. He had a really good save as well, pretty much ignored all shooting. He was also able to use his whip as a shooting attack.

Has anyone else played him?

Yes and he is a nasty beast! He just wipes out everything that he looks at! Hasn't died in anybattles that I have played him in so far. Being a Daemon, he can fly around the board laughing at everything that tries to kill him!
