I know I want a lord, 2 slayers, the engineer, a thunderer and some clansmen to start with. Is there one box I can buy that I can build all of these with a good bits box. I don't think they have an unarmored dwarf for the slayers in any of the boxes, so may have to suck it up and have em with armor for looks, and just greenstuff some mohawks.

warhammer 40k mmo. If I can drive an ork trukk into the back of a space marine dread and explode in a fireball of epic, I can die happy!

I think the box has been discontinued, like all of their specialist games. But check ebay for the bits or have a hunt online for other bits you like. The original box did have slayers.

I will pull random minis from my Dwarf army if I decide to use one, but you can find slayers around or other models of half naked or naked dwaves with mohawks and a variety of weapons.

EDIT: Here is one I am looking for my slayers, but the other berserkers look good too, just they are all bald, so you will still need your green stuff.

This has a nice list of places to look too http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/373197.page

I can probably just get the warrior box, and convert some. Oh well, my slayer will just have to look like he is wearing armor.

Hmm what set was that dwarf included in, looks good

I should probably look into alternate models for the game, since I never plan on playing at a GW, and they are pretty limited

Looking at the dwaves a question has come up, if they do not suffer from armour movement penalties is there any point of gromril armour?

Thanks for the advice. And someone told me gromril is kind of a waste on dwarves. 9 gold starting maces made from gromril sound good though.

armor is already worthless enough as it is, without totally killing the point heh.

Just chipping in, if you're looking for some really nice slayers, I'd recommend Avatars of War

Thanks, these are awesome too, maybe a big pricey for me at the moment. Probably order a couple of the other guy

Whelp, I broke down and bought 2 dwarf slayers from avatar of war. They are just too awesome, and even with shipping to the U.S. are STILL cheaper than gw.

Alright got my models and played a few games. What are the must have skills for dwarves and slayer specials?

For a slayer its anything that lets him live longer, hope you gave him 2 dwarven axes.

Special skills: Ferocious charge is a good one and combine it with berserker then you negate the -1 to hit.

Combat skills: Strike to injure is good, Step aside is a must

Strength skills: Might blow, Resilient, fearsome. Pit fighter is good if you keep him in buildings a lot of the time.

Forgot to say the models look good.

Just remember slayers are all ginger, naked and covered in woad

switched to coreheim. And while all these things are true in mordheim, virtually none are so in coreheim, a much better system imho. For one armor matters. Another is you can now take out dwarves on 5 or 6 instead of 6 only, theu just become immune to stun like zombies. there are no slayer skills anymore, so no wounding all those toughies on 4+, duel wielding gives -1 ws for both attacks. aoe spells are vastly improved and needed against all meelee brick armies. so no hiding behind warriors till you get there.

Way on back in the deep caves

Didn't know they had dwarves in Coreheim, I thought it was just the book warbands?

I made a Dwarf Warband from the 6th edition Dwarf Plastics combined with the Mordheim Accessory sprue and a few other bits.
Dwarves do well with braces of pistols and a few skill advances.
Their engineer increases their range, use it.
