Tonight, channel 4 is running "psychopath night" tonight, and on their website there's a little self-diagnostic test, so I decided to take a shot at it!

http://psychopath.channel4.com/quizzes.html

I got 45% - apparently:

"Though my conscience is in the right place I also have a pragmatic streak and generally aren’t afraid to do my own dirty work! I'm no shrinking violet - but no daredevil either. I generally have little trouble seeing things from another person’s perspective but, at the same time, am no pushover. ‘Everything in moderation – including moderation’ might sum up my approach to life."

That actually sums me up rather well, I thought - but what do you get? do you agree with your score?
Did you think you were a psychopath before you took the test?

I think the test might be a bit off though. It said I was a people person :/

Took it again, changed some the things a bit. Jumped up to 42%, and the little description is better. I still think it's off.

Here's my description

Though your conscience is in the right place you also have a pragmatic streak and generally aren’t afraid to do your own dirty work! You’re no shrinking violet - but no daredevil either. You generally have little trouble seeing things from another person’s perspective but, at the same time, are no pushover. ‘Everything in moderation – including moderation’ might sum up your approach to life.

30% - You are warm and empathic with a heightened awareness of social responsibility and a strong sense of conscience. You like to carefully weigh up the pros and cons of a situation before you act and are generally averse to taking risks. You are very much a ‘people person’ and dislike conflict. ‘Do unto others…’ are your watchwords. But, although you avoid hurting others, those residing at the higher end of the psychopathic spectrum might not be as considerate, so stay vigilant to avoid being hurt unnecessarily.

Look at me being all nice... clearly the test is broken.

See, I always thought I had more of a psycho streak, I think where my score dropped is from my introverted side, as apparently Psychopaths have very little fear response or anxiety.

So I'm not as Psycho as I thought I was!

Sounds about right.

"You can play hardball with the best of them! You know what you want and are not afraid to go for it – even if it means bending the rules occasionally and putting a few noses out of joint on the way. Nothing fazes you. You are decisive, self-confident and pretty much up for anything. You are a ‘means-to-an-end’ person. For you, it’s not necessarily a matter of right or wrong, but of what gets the job done. ‘Bring it on’ is your mantra, but to help those around you keep their heads, you should learn some tricks to help you temper your self-satisfying tendencies..."

Captain Killhammer McFighterson stared down at the surface of Earth from his high vantage point on the bridge of Starship Facemelter. Something ominous was looming on the surface. He could see a great shadow looming just underneath the waters of the Gulf of Mexico, slowly spreading northward. "That can't be good..." he muttered to himself while rubbing the super manly stubble on his chin with one hand. "But... on the other hand..." he looked at his shiny new bionic murder-arm. "This could be the perfect chance for that promotion." A perfect roundhouse kick slammed the ship's throttle into full gear. Soon orange jets of superheated plasma were visible from the space-windshield as Facemelter reentered the atmosphere at breakneck speed.

Funnily enough though, that's the same paragraph you get at 100% - It's all quite interesting though, I wonder if there's any link between psychopathy and wargaming?

I support he sterilization of truly awful human beings for terrible things that they have done, believe every human should be forced to take an intensive parenting course before being allowed to have children, and any they have before the test is passed grant a 6 month window to take and pass the test of adoption is a requirement, and parents should be limited to 2 children (farm families get 4 for the intensive work load). I also talk to myself in the car. I'm a complete psycho. I don't need a damn test arguing with me.

I'm also, obviously, a people person.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

Considering how I suffer from severe anxiety, including but not limited to social anxiety, I'd say I'm pretty much the opposite of a people person.

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

You'd probably find if you got passed your social anxiety you'd be quite the asset in a social setting. Not trying to be flippant, just coming from one who knows to an extent.

You are warm and empathic with a heightened awareness of social responsibility and a strong sense of conscience. Cool, okay, now you've buttered me up with the meaningless tripe, let's get on with this, I haven't all day You like to carefully weigh up the pros and cons of a situation before you act Meaningless tripe. Please show me a functional human being who doesn't do this. and are generally averse to taking risks Well I don't gamble or play the lottery, if that's what your refering to. I'm generally not good at remembering about the rubber tho. You are very much a ‘people person’ Oh lel, god no. and dislike conflict That's unfair. I love conflict, when there's no chance of me either losing or being injured in the process. ‘Do unto others…’ are your watchwords More, don't do unto others and they'll leave you alone, but the end result is mostly the same. But, although you avoid hurting others, those residing at the higher end of the psychopathic spectrum might not be as considerate, so stay vigilant to avoid being hurt unnecessarily. You have successfully induced fear in me, now where can I buy your book so that I know how to avoid all those peskywould-be murderers ???

Socially awkward, introverted, prefers time alone or in the company of few friends, gets exhausted and tired even with a group of good friends if it surpasses 6 other people, suffers from bouts of apathy, usually strikes a low point that ruins moods as I fall into disparity once each day before bursting back into almost ominous joviality, has nightmares of being alone or indvidiuals loved, is confused about many aspects of themself, is paranoid, expects friends to not want to talk to them, feels dull, boring, irritating, and uninteresting, looses sense of joy when friends don't contact them for long sustained amounts of time, will occasionally lose it smashing head into books, doors, etc, punches self on occasion, punches hands into walls to avoid hurting others but with the goal to cause pain upon himself, apologizes excessively some part of them feeling like everything they say and do is wrong, consistently feels guilty for every post and often redacts them, doesn't trust humanity on a basic level, feels to some extent like he's unworthy of attention, care, or love, feels like a hideous abomiation, even a monster, has warped views that don't sync well, many friends argue that I'm chaotic neutral even though many others say nuetral good, talks to self frequently, feels like people call name often when it isn't so, struggles with the names of individuals, feels that conflict is necessary however not worth injuring one's self.... This test isn't very accurate. For one, there are a lot of factors that determine if someone is a psychopath or not, far more than just 11 questions about your preference toward watching a wounded animal. Also, most people who fit the medical definition of psychopath or sociopath know that they think differently and spend a lot of time acting a lying about how they really feel. In reality, a an psychopath would likely score low on this test in an attempt to blend in instead of using honesty. Seriously though, who said they aren't upset when they see a wounded animal? How many of these questions shouted "this is something a psychopath would agree to"? It's a cute test but doesn't seem like any actual journalism went into this.

If you want to know about actual psychopaths and how they act check out this book

I read it a while ago and the author does a great job explaining the feelings he has (as basically the opposite of a psychopath) when talking to these people.
