A friend just got all the stuff and is wanting to first time attempt to gm and is really stoked about it, i was curious if anybody has any tips or tricks for gming and general play that might help. (Specifically good careers, what to avoid, etc)

Im also interested in gming locally at some point but have never played a ff game, i do have experience with dnd and white wolf games though.

Finally, my friend is working on trying to make this work through roll20.net and would like to see if anyone may be interested in playing

Make sure all the players are on the same page for the type of game they want, serious or lawls in space.

It may be easier for you to act as the rogue trader as an npc, at least in the beginning.

Knowing the 40k lore helps a lot, basically to not get the inquisition after you.

Skills are important, don't just focus on combat upgrades.

We were talking about doing rt as npc and avoiding pc psykers right now, is it worth the investment into the medical stuff? Like diagnoser an any related skills or doe it rarely come up?

Have you been on the FFG forums for rouge trader? I've found the folks there informative and very friendly. As someone whose going to eventually run a DH adventure all I can say is welcome and may you not run afoul of the inquisition.

Med skills do come in handy especially when now one has a med kit handy and your on some backwater world.
