Pyro Pilot of a Triach Stalker

The Eternity Gate

If escalation is to become part of the meta then titans (and unfun games) will have to be dealt with. Unlike last edition, haywire works on superheavies so necrons are built to take them out. The goal is for my ground forces simply to survive until turn 2 when my flyers and the main threat come in. Each nightscythe unit will put out 20 guass shots and 8 haywire shots when delpyed. Ya they won't survive any return fire but should be enough to strip enough hull points off even a revenant titan for my flyers to finish it off. First issue I know is the deathstar, but against enemy gargantuan creatures like the Transcendent C'tan, I need a backup plan since haywire means nothing to them. Let me know what you think.

Wondering Why the Emperor Left

You will have problems against a target that is well bubble-wrapped, particularly something durable like a Reaver, but hopefully you have enough ground presence to clear out bubblewrap before the fliers come in. All that haywire is pretty devastating as long as you don't mess up your rolls, but you might be vulnerable to getting tabled if your reserves are bad. Additionally, if you can't clear the Void Shields from a Reaver you're in for a world of hurt because on average you aren't killing it in a single turn - it just has too many hull points. Still, you have the barges and such, so you might be fine.

The big vulnerability you have is Gargantuan creatures - all that Haywire is great when you can drop it right by a titan, but against a rerollable 2++ flying daemon lord you're going to have a bit more trouble. I would see if you can fit more fliers, I'm not a necron expert but those lords look very expensive. Perhaps some points can be shaved there and by making some Warrior squads smaller to include more fliers for a better chance to ground things.

Currently not in posession of any armies - I merely theorycraft and discuss background,
Waiting for HH Book 6 so I can start an Imperial Army army.
