So I just got my girlfriend a copy of evil baby orphanage and one of the expansions for Christmas, and while I'm waiting for it to get here, I was wondering if anyone played it, and if so how they liked it?

I have it and have managed to play it a few times now.

I enjoy the game, once you start to know what your doing (which takes a turn or two at most) its fun. Its simple to play and is a good laugh.

The one thing I will say is it needs more than 3 people to play, I would probably say that 4-6 is the sweet spot.

I have it and all of the expansions, it's a pretty fun game, kind of goofy and very fun. But PEARSCW is right, you need more than 3 to play for it to really be fun.

At least at 3 players, it felt a lot like Munchkin (i.e. every time someone gets close to winning, everyone uses their cards to prevent them, and eventually enough people run out of resources that someone can win, which is to say, I wasn't very excited.

But, the other two commenters say that that was too few players, so, well, I guess that at least confirms under 4 isn't awesome.

The Lair of Vengeance....Poole.

I've played it at 3 people and had a blast. Mind you, we were all VERY drunk. And it turned into "Get baby hitler and dick everyone." Which should honestly be the objective. Survive a round without losing baby hitler is way more fun.

Well, enough alcohol can make any game that moves quickly enough fun.

EBO is a party game, so will be more fun with more players. I have found it does not overly bog down up to 6 players, although I have not played with more than 6.

There are 2 things I recommend to keep the game fun. First and most important, this is a party game so don't take it too seriously. The gamers in my area who try and figure out how to "beat" the game are the ones who dislike it most. The people who don't take it too seriously and who are not worried who wins or loses have the most fun.

Second, use the Time Nannies. Adding the nannies to the game add enough difference to raise the level of "fun" in the game.

Overall, I really recommend it if you have a good fit in gaming group.

sweet. It came in (the base set and the nerdfighteria expansion) and it looks amazing. i'm really impressed with the amount of effort that wyrd puts in to delivering quality products, even if it isn't necessarily punctual. *cough*Through the Breach *cough*

I got it.. did not like it too much (wrong meta in my group I suppose) so.. going to move it along to a new home somehow.

Anyone got Dominion expansions and want it?

I suffered a similar problem.

The local boardgaming group is a bit more serious (there are a lot of euro-gamers), so no-one really enjoys EBO because there is a lot of randomness and no figure-out-able strategy. If you can get behind the theme of it, then it is more fun, but for me it's probably relegated to the 'few beers with the chaps' game rather than one I would suggest playing.

I enjoy it, but it's only seen the table twice since I've owned it, so it's relegated to the bookshelf for now...
