I'm having trouble painting eye makup on my wyches. I'm happy with the flesh, armor, base and then I look at the face all I see is Twisted Sister. I'm tired of my models yelling "We're not going to take it!" at me. I havn't had any luck finding any tutorial videos on youtube or here.

painting eyes: dab white, then black dot in the middle, then encircle a thin black line around the whole eye, you may have to fix some areas with skin tone, paint eye brows.

make up: use watered down ice blue and go over the area above and below the eyes. the cheeks could be dabbed with pallid flesh.

I would actually recommend essentially reversing Big Mac's method. I find it much easier to "black" out the eyes (a dark red, brown, etc. generally works better, unless you're going for stark black makeup, specifically), dot inside the edges with white, then come in to clean up with your flesh colors, leaving a larger or smaller rim of your dark base, depending on the desired effect.

For the rest of the face, even subtle attempts at glazing with straight color are likely going to end up looking pretty stark. Try treating the makeup like stubble or tattoos, not warpaint - any time you want to add artificial color, mix it with your skin tone, then apply the glaze. The color will still show, but transitions will be smoothed and the intensity will drop to more believable levels.

I'll try these out. Thanks. Does anyone have a good quality video out there on this technique?

If you're going for things like eye shadow or lipstick etc, I'd probably say some very carefully applied glazes would give you the results you want,

eyeliner is probably best applied with a steady hand and a very fine point.

I think Leigen_Zero has the right idea with using glazes.

I prefer to paint my eyes "inside-out".
I start the head with "big" white blobs on the eye area. Then add a black line going almost from forehead to cheekbone to make the pupil.
I then use the base flesh colour to paint the rest of the head and slowly and carefully resize the eyes.
Finish off with highlighting and details.

Works for me.
