So as the topic titels says do you field a Crimson Hunter and to what succes? Does it become better in multiples? I might want to invest in them in the long run but before I do I'm interested in what mileage it has given you guys in the past. And more importantly how that milleage has affected your view of said Crimson Hunter.

Totally agree that they look awesome (especially if you don't stick on the stupid little wings behind the cockpit).

I've had some good luck with it, but tbo haven't had a game yet where there have been much in the way of other threats. It's a great anti-tank weapon, and with the starcannons becomes a very potent anti-everything (2 S9AP1 4S8AP2 shots at BS5 - yes please).

Vector Dancer is awesome, and means you can basically threaten any model on the board in any turn, so games where they don't have effective AA you will kill tons of stuff; games where they do, well, kill the AA with something else ASAP and then repeat point 1 above.

I've got two, but haven't yet played a game with both. Looking forward to doing so.

Well when i first got mine, i put a little tally on the base, so i could keep track.
one said times used:
one said times killed:
and one said fliers killed:

The similarity of the times used and the times killed got to much for me

What are you smoking mate? A crimson hunter with starcannons has 2 S8 AP2 shots, and 4 S6 AP2!

Basically it is awesome if it can come on and shoot at something, especially a flyer. Just make sure that your opponent does not have a quad gun or similar interceptor unit, which will have an excellent chance of killing it before it can fire. Furthermore, if your opponent does not bring flyers, there are simply more points efficient and resilient units in the codex to provide that firepower.

I know two guys that use them. They always focus out stuff with interceptor early so their paper airplanes make it. After that it's spray and pray.

I tend to just field nightwings instead.. quite a bit more resilient.

Obviously was smoking something fun. Lols. Don't know where I got those stats but played 3 games with them on Saturday and nobody blinked an eye. Lolsies indeed.

Either way it's lots of pewpew and it's fun!

I had one game where I was forced to bring the flyer on while the Quad gun on the Bastion was still alive, but managed to bring it directly in behind a big building, and was completely concealed from the gun so it couldn't intercept. Then managed to kill off the crew the next turn. Was nice

It also obliterated a Storm Raven (although the creative gun stats may have helped a bit more than was necessary there... Still would have toasted it without that though

I've had fairly good luck running mine though as people have said it helps if it comes on after there is an enemy flier or similar for it to shoot at though an autarch modifying the reserve roll can help a bit with that.
