I plan on having lots of Chenkov's conscripts (100+) conscripts but I cant afford it are there any cheap desertmen alternitives?

Im sure hes going for the "guys with head wraps/facial coverings" not too unlike the Tallarn, As far as I know ive never seen any, but if you can find reasonable scale realistic war miniatures something of a Saladin army or persian army might give you a good start.

Yeah, if you mean generic desert dudes, Perry makes some. Probably the best for you would be these guys. If it would be too intensive for you to convert them, then they would easily kitbash with different arms holding lasguns, or something.

You could always check ebay to see if you can pick up cheap Tallarn models, if not I'm positive that there is a company that does turban wearing guard. They also do Mechanicus type troops iirc. Can't remember the name for the life of me though.

Might have to wait a while on that. Tallarn on eBay don't usually sell for cheaper than the current cadian line at full retail.
