Ok, I'm trying to make blood crushers work while allied with CSM. I've got Grimorie, Belakor (invisible crushers who can scare marines? yes!), and CC Herald. I know crushers have some serious flaws, but I'm looking for the challenge and they simply are great looking models.

Anyone have any success or tips for these nerfed little cavs?

I have run crushers before - you really want to grab a lesser gift on a Blood Hunter for another AP 2, ID weapon. I also paired them with 32 Flesh Houds and 9 Fiends to provide a T4 saturation. They are still expensive for their survivability - but they just wreck a lot of problem units.

As a CSM addition, I think they are going to struggle unless you Deep Strike them in an aggressive list and use terrain to keep them out of LOS as much as possible.

I'm planning on screening them with a Juggerlord and invisible spawn. Belakor will bring up the rear and I'm sticking two heralds in the pack. They should hit with hatred, rage, and about 10 ap 2 attacks. I'm thinking of throwing in the grimorie too. If I'm lucky enough to get an extra warp charge on the DP, then the crushers can be invisible too.

Ok, we'll now my group thinks I'm some sort of troll. I ran 6 crushers, with a reaper, 2 jugger heralds, karanak (sp?), and then a grimorie thirster and Belakor following around the squad pumping it with everything I could. It was a double force org btw. That's almost 1200 pts in a Death Star with as much AP 2, hatred, rage, anti-pskyer, 3+ invulns as I could throw in it. Also helped that a herald and the thirster got FNP and I used the herald to tank wounds. Apparently Khorne forces are broken now. Oh well back to grav bikes and centurions for me.

Well if you can keep them away from S8 then they should be pretty reasonable. They can be a great way to DS bloodletters or whatever without scatter.

The problem is, that in this game someone can liberally apply their paper to your rock from across the board via S8 shooting, and theres little you can do about it

Okay 7 crushers, with 4 jugger heralds of Khorne, with a Juggerlord with 5 spawn giving them cover, a Grimorie Thirster and Belakor following works great!!

Just rolled a Farsight bomb, Nid Monster Zoo, IG armored corps, Primarch Deathstar, and Nobz in Battlewagon lists. So mobility, so much 2+ cover and opponents with WS1. Worked great.

Glad to hear it is working out for you. Though at the point levels I usually play at (1500) not sure how well it would function. Seems to be one of those things that do well at a 2k pt level.

Definetly. We play at 2.5k. Not sure it would really work well at even 2k. That's the shame with tournaments... the lower points change the game.

They have rage and hatred? You know only one of the loci can be in effect right?

They do a lot more damage then the fast alternatives they just fear S8 a lot more and I think you covered that looks solid.

With Karanak's rerolls and multiple loci I should have said access to rage hatred and even more. I like to put any other herald that gets 4+ FNP in front, to tank. When I have one unit to attack, I take rage. When I decide to multi assault, hatred. I will say that greater gifts are awesome for Juggerheralds.

You can only benefit form one loci at a time.

Karanak's Prey of the Blood God rule pretty much gives him and his unit Eternal Hatred against one character and his unit. See something remotely threatening that Invisible Crushers could take? Mark it for death and woe anything else trying to get in between you and your prey.

If only you're not so damn expensive and fold to Tau markerlights and Wave Serpents. Should be able to handle everything.... except for semi-durable tarpit walkers and AV 13./14.

In the rules about Locust.

The minor one are always override by the major etc etc, if you have 2 heralds with a different Loci, the Higer one suppres the lower, wich is stupid i know when you see all those armies with things that stacks or combine,

Is prey of the blood god a locus? Book not on me, but I thought it was just elect a character and get rerolls against it and it's unit. IIRC, that would stack with a locus. So, the equivilant of hatred and then get rage from you're locus on another herald.

Depends, from memory its not a Locust, but since my Deamon book is under some pile of old DWarfs, because i promised myself to not touch this wretched thing even with a ten foot pole, i can't be sure.

But iirc karanak also has a Locust can't remember wich one though.

Lol, yeah a disappointing dex with no internal balance (and I had thought CSM was bad). Pretty sure he gives hatred the rest of the time (and a plus 2 to deny, thank you, and scout, nice).

I figured it was based on the fact that you do not get to choose - most people who make this mistake assume they benefit from both, not that they benefit from 1 but get to choose. It is really not OP to allow the Locus to stack or to even let someone choose - but that is how they decided to implement it. You do get rerolls by Karanak of course and he has some other nice benefits wrt deny the witch. I love the idea of models blowing themselves up on any doubles they roll.
