I was surprised at how easy it is to use green stuff if you do stuff step by step, I did his mouth, cheeks, nose and each ear on separate days so that I wouldn't ruin the sculpting.

@LDD Great! Glad he looks like a master of kung-fu, I was going for that, a character that could turn into a wise mentor that's a little badass but you don't know it yet!

Yes, he has the look of the wise, I like the splash of red just makes it pop without being distracting and the cold eyes are a good idea.
You should build a padawan for him, just to torment and break for fun.

now that is a nice looking fella!
and as for the GS work... I KNOW it is the right thing to do this step by step...drawn over a couple days... but every time i start i want to get something DONE...which is a total dumb idea with GS... but when i start something in my mind switches off... and this is mostly my patience...

If I were to do it again I would use OSL to achieve the glowing lightsaber effect. But I'm happy with this guy =)

I gather the light sauce is a necron bit the arm pose is cool as hell and you need to add some stuff floating in the air now

Arms Militia I think or Empire archers set with hands alteration
Torso Catachan HQ set with a little scalpel carving around the neck
Lightsaber Necron weapon pulse thing and PC tubing

for Maul... Id say start with the human "shouting" eldar heads and see if there is a decent one to shave down.

found no other bare head that comes close to your idea... tho i think using eldar heads would be a good idea... as maul is way shorter that the standard force user...except yoda of course^^

Just put pointed rivets on one of the more intact GW Zombie heads?
All the painted tattoo stuff will be the only noticeable thing in the end.

good idea... and here on the gallery i also found a maul made froma catachan head... a yelling one...



and the pointed rivet idea is a very cool idea... i didn´t look to fondly to make GS spikes^^

If you wanted to use an Eldar head, why not one of these bald Dark Eldar heads:



Of course you would have to shave off some detail, but these could work as a nice base.

when look for the eldar head these came up too... and i agree the facial expressions are highly good looking for that purpose... they have the inbuilt evil nastiness that´s needed for a sith ...

This head is a pretty sweet sith head too, like darthmaul with different markings. Except I would fill in the crescent part:

Some great work in here. I've just read the whole thread. Loving the F3 stuff especially. Brought back memories! I need to try and recover my saves from a dead HDD - I can't see myself starting again from scratch...

I love the Jedi Model, and the yoda model. It makes me want to make some of my own.

Hey guys I wanted to make some alternative to the GW standard striking scorpion miniatures.

I'm not sure how I feel about this first test guy. He turned out a bit too pristine and high tech than what I was hoping for.
I could fill in the chest design maybe?

I think I'll try painting him and see how it turns out.




Does anyone have ideas to make this guy look a little more low tech? Wires around the helmet? Rivets?

if you add rivets to the fella... then these need to be of the tinest sort... i like the model though...his gun looks rather like a MP/ UZI mix... intresting... will keep that look in mind for one day future gangers of mine...

and yon sith lord looks very cool... do you keep the collar on him or will this be filed off?

For the sith guy yeah I think keeping the collar will be the simplest thing to do, ill trim that earing thing tho i think.

That's a good idea with the gun I hadn't even thought of that, switch the front part and use a knife to make the rest more square and you got an imperial Uzi!

i think it is the shape of that clip... it is kinda iconic looking...
