The other part of the supply drop, got these from the grandparents. Worked at their place again today for half the day, hence why I haven't been online much.

Three melamine cabinets, not the top of the line guys, but they had been sitting unassembled in poppys garage for over a decade. Since hey can't pay me anything for all the help they've been giving us stuff. I've cleaned out so much junk that they don't need the extra storage. Some of the boards have some water damage, but with careful stacking, none will be wiser. Getting these is making swapping shelves and basement areas more realistic to me.

The walkway on the bridge is one what narrow, just under 2", so only foot traffic, and not big dreadnoughts first thing to get changed on the bridge will be the beautiful blue water on the cardboard between the bridge sections.

Always a good hobby use or three for shelving like that!

Speaking of bits, while unboxing the bridge I realized how much good stuff I've been throwing away over the years. In the foreground you can see the plastic bars that hold the toy in place in the box, and also the wire ties they use to tie them. Power cables and scrap bits. I think babies have a lot more smarts then we give em credit for. Babies get their Christmas presents and play with he boxes and wrapping paper, we wad them up and hopefully recycle them. Babies also get milk from a better source than bottles

LOL... and to be frank... I have collected these and playmobil or lego sprues (you sometimes get the latter too) and when the time arises they will make great stuff...I am sure about that^^...

I don't think this bridge is getting a mate. Wife got passed over for the three positions in her district. All the administrators choice and everyone seems baffled. She's put in for other districts now, so supply drops will definitely be dwindling. I'm still looking for work, but she really wants me to be a stay at home dad. We tightened up our belts back when I left my last job, and were fine as long as were responsible so no worries. Just projects will be slower in he future.

I've been very domestic today. Sometimes I get in the cooking mood, today I made. Meatloaf, and froze enough for two mor batches, prepped taco meat to have one of our kids favorite meals, and go some short ribs ready. Won't have to do anything except side dishes for he next few nights. Still have left over BBQ chicken that will make another meal.

Hooked up a new t.v. In the family room today. We're finally going flatscreen at least in the family room.

Dave if your looking for any GIJoe stuff let me know, here's a toy shop down the street that buys and sells all the toys from our youth. Gijoe, mask, transformers, heman an Barbie. They also have an arcade with real arcade machines inside . They have limited hours, but since my availability is open I can go and peruse.

Ah, very interesting to have a place like that close by Theo! I tend to watch over the roommates' 7yr old when they do not wish to have him along as he slows down the shopping wandering about and almost bumping into things! (He really has to learn awareness of his surroundings!), so about as close to "parenting" as I get honestly.

I got a ten year old and twin eight year olds, they pay no attention to what's going on around them, and they're noisy. I remember as a kid I would weave back and forth between people in the mall, but never cut them off, I'm always apologizing for my kids walking in front of people and abruptly stopping.

I think it's from the t.v., the shows I watched had me wanting to be an all aware stealthy ninja . I always walked with light footsteps trying to sneak up on people and scared the out of everyone because I could be right behind them and them not notice. My kids can't enter a sports stadium during the playoff game without drawing attention to themselves.

well... if you can keep buys at a modest range and still have a worthwhile life... than this often is how it is supposed to be... we currently live of my wifes pay alone too...and I even go to school instead of working... and she pays that bill too... and the odd new cloth for her hobby (sewing) is in it for us too... we just skipped from our planned holiday trip though... tough choices sometimes have to be made......

is there a chance to get the knowing about why your wife didn´t get chosen for the other positions? zero out of three is a pretty nasty chance I say... smells a bit fishy to me...?...

you americans... we only have one tv set at all...ok... mind you...it is quite big and flat too... but we only ever watch tv in the living room... and don´t eat while watching... the kids always get way too mesmerized by the telly^^ (mind you... the odd pizza does disappear due to my wife and me eating and watching big bang theory and so on^^)

She's inquired with the decision makers, but hasn't heard back. She's been the principal fog summer school for the last five years, and fill in for them as needed. She always gets raving good reviews from parents and faculty, so were mystified.

We have one t.v. In the family room, one in our bedroom. And now three unplugged in the basement. We don't let he kids use electronics during the school week, so it's just the wife and I watching just before bedtime. I watch/ listen to Netflix while doing housework, modeling or anything else unless my radio is on. I just bought a digital antenna today, for he last few years we've only had satellite or Netflix, no watching current tv.

she even works as principal and everyone loves her work and still?... that sounds like a scam... or possibly she is too expensive to promote?...that happens quite often...

She is well paid now, but a first year administrator gets paid h same unless they have a doctorate I believe. She has two bachelors degrees and two masters as it is, so the district might save money by promoting her and hiring a new teacher.

Odd about the wife getting passed up, I know blacklisting occurs in the jobs fields, but if they are now extending that to spouses of blacklisted workers...... :(

Ah, the kid is also an Asperger's so he would be more aware if it were trains as trains are his fixation at the moment. I have been infecting him with my own Asperger's regarding tanks LOL!

Unfortunately here in Missouri there's no real way to get answers. You can ask, but hey not have to tell you anything. She might be able to go through the teachers union, but the administration can always say that they chose the three best candidates for interviews and she just didn't make the cut.

Missouri is also a "right to work state", which means your boss can fire you for any reason he wants, and you really don't have much recourse. It's kind o where I'm at right now. They said I provided poor customer service, which isn't true as all my sales numbers can show, but now I must speak to a Tribunal about it to get my unemployment. I'm not concerned, it will be great if I get it, but won't be he end of the world if I don't. My former boss got upset with me a year ago after I hurt my back. I reported it to him, but he didn't follow protocol and it cost he store more on the bottom line as a result. He looked bad but couldn't do anything right then about it, because if I got fired within 6 months of the incident there could be a lawsuit. He waited passed the 6 months and then targeted me. In retail you can build a case against anyone for anything, and hats hat he did to me. If I can prove it in front of the tribunal next week, then it will be substantiated enough where I might be able to pursue further action against the company and him personally.

that would be a good deed then if you succeed... I would go ballistic if something like that would happen to me...it is really so unfair...I hope he get´s his fill!

I'm trying not to hold a grudge. I think the biggest thing that will show during the hearing is that I am eligible for rehire. Why would you fire a salesman that is outdoing everyone in the district for poor service, and then as you'd rehire him in a minute.

Yeah "right to work " states are crappy that way. Although you also do not need to tell them you decided to quit, just not show up as you get a better job. but yeah, they can fire you for wearing the wrong colored shirt to work.

Last time I was there they had one with the box.the box was beat up and the toy had obviously been out and played with, but it had everything. They had a uss Flagg, and the huge cobra and gijoe bases. These guys don't play around . When I drove by after my kids soccer practice tonight it looked like thy may only be open 3-4 nights a week. They also have old Lego sets.

We have a store similar here, also keeps strange hours Mon-Thurs by appt only, Fri-Sat 12-5 or something strange, I need to go check it out one of these days!
