Beautiful day so far, but the rain is supposed to be coming. Guess I'll be force to work inside the house today and get some miniature stuff done. But waiting for the kids school to open they got to play on the playground.

I was swinging too, it's one of those little pleasures in life that nobody should take for granted. Their school even has a swing set up for students in wheelchairs . If you haven't done it in a while, you need to. All the cares of the world just wash away.

Got home and took apart an old Walkman. It was another gift from the grandparents clean out. I can at least use the springs and gears inside to use on a future project.

Got a little work done on the front of the fort. It will have lights if I can figure a good layout to it. Also increased the space between the battlements/piers to give a land raider space to come out. Will cut the opening once the structure is more sound.

Worked on the front battlement some this evening. Locked m keys in my car earlier, killed two hours of hobby time . But all is forgiven after 93 rivets and a glue high.



Will work on the lights in the am, will need power tools to do it now, an the kids are asleep. I have decided not to make operable doors. Yes, I wussed out.

Awww, no operable doors, I was looking forward to either huge swinging doors, or sliding ones

I might change my mind I the morning, but at this point not happening. It too would need power tools as there are three layers of of where the door is currently.

There are two flashing red lights directly above the door. I tried to take a video and upload, but failed. The flashing is done at random intervals.probably a good thing that I can't upload, be just my luck someone would watch it while driving and it would trigger a seizure.


Kids have soccer game today, followed by an outing with family, and possibly bloodbowl this evening. If everything goes right no updates or progress the rest of the day.

I need to come up with ideas to cover the blood drops. My green stuff skills don't exist, so the band and drop on the right leg Wil probably be a belt to hold grenades.

Greenstuff or any such putty, just requires practice and remember that if what you make doesn't look right, you can always screw it up into a ball and start again, can't do that with plastic, resin or metal.

You could just file off the drop...or...turn it into a mantis head...

Inlaws were here for a little bit, got half a game of bloodbowl in. Played half lines for the first time and kept him from scoring until turn four of second half when they had to leave due to their daughter throwing a temper tantrum. We made plans to play tomorrow. Might try out my khemri team again, they performed so good the last time I tried them.

Trying to find something to do with the family tonight. Wife wants to see the great gatsby, I want iron man 3, but trying to find a sitter either way.

Set a bowl of warm water mixed with dishwashing liquid in it(Dawn works well) and let the parts sit for a few hours, 24hrs is usual, and then rinse set on towel to dry, lifting agent should be gone

I normally clean them good, I got these before we moved so forgot to do that. Never had problem with the glue not catching though, paint not gripping yes, but never with the glue.

Oh that just means they used a fresh batch and had too much in the mold is all.

Good news guys, new desktop computer is set up and running. I'll still be on the iPad a lot as its easier to carry and do photos with, but if I'm just browsing and leaving comments ill try to use the desktop as the iPad mangles everything. I just had to make at least fifteen corrections in this post alone, and it's still not right obviously on the iPad at the moment.

Now the lure of gaming on a new rig will derail your hobby plans

Yes, my brother in law was so hooked by bloodbowl that he purchased it on steam. Us buying the computer was my wife's idea so that I could get bloodbowl online also and he and I could play more often.

Oh and finally got my mantis challenge guy to stay together. Had to pin him, too much mold release on him I guess? Although the same glue bottle I've been using, the joints are still gummy.

Removed all blood angel icons, placed krak grenades on leg where the blood drop had been. Went with krak grenades instead of frag because the krak has the midline rib on them, which is the same diameter as the rib going around the leg where the symbol was. Hopefully that looks like some type of cabling holding it in place.

I also gave him a deathwatch shoulder pad. Not sure if he'll become the first of a deathwatch squad for me, or if he'll just be a veteran returned to his chapter. Haven't decided on the painting either. Will he be full deathwatch black with silver arm, or will he be mantis warrior green with silver arm, or do I go crazy and try a tranquility pattern camo with a silver arm? Was the deathwatch even around during the tranquility fighting? We're they around during the badab conflict? If anyone knows for sure I'd appreciate a pm

Except its a specialist game so just got boxed by GW. It's supposed to be the secret release this fall since its the 25th anniversary of bloodbowl. Also just downloaded it on steam.

The Mantis Warrior is coming together quite nicely. I love the use of the way old ork chain sword for the scythe, That's brilliant. You wouldn't happen to have a couple more of those old weapons lying around that you could trade me do you? I would definitely make it worth your while. Pm me if you want to discuss a little parts swap.

Have you considered the adhesion problem might be some kind of residue left from the poster tack on the plastic parts? I don't usually use the stuff myself so I don't know if it leaves any residue behind. Anyway, your work here is inspiring as always, good luck in the competition.

@shaso, too true. If I didn't have so much invested in GW products I'd get out of the hhhobby now it's good money chasing bad I guess. Luckily there are enough independent game stores out there that let you play with anything even non GW minis. And there are so many better non GW minis out there.
@ephrael, thanks. I don't know where that ork chainsaw came from, never owned a lot of ork stuff. Got tons of old imperial stuff though if your wanting it let me know what your looking for and well work something out.

Played a couple games of bloodbowl yesterday. My brother in law likes the necromunda buildings and such, but still not enough to get him into the game. Got him hooked on bloodbowl, so we may be seeing some miniatures from him in the future. He's got me going on steam with bloodbowl, so either way I'm getting some good bashing in.

Hence why my IG is so hodge-podge of uniforms and armor I also have my scratch build tanks and Old Crow tossed in for good measure for vehicles.

laid down a base coat of flesh on some norse bloodbowl figures. nothing really to post as work in progress, because I'm painting over existing paint and don't want to show off the old paint schemes. THe bloodbowl game on steam has me really excited for the game again. now just need a necromunda game to get me painting them .

Kids have half days at school today and weds(last day), and also have my tribunal hearing weds. Hopefully everything goes well makes a huge difference for me mentally.
