Hi all - Has anyone made use of the new GW nixhili Oxide colour for adding that rusty verdigris to metal?
Ive been meaning to have a go at this look for a while but recently made the move to come away from all GW paints so Id rather an alternative if anyone knows in vallejo or other line.
Thanks for any pointers.

The alternative is to thin down some turquoise colour paint to become a wash. Maybe grinding up a chalk pastel to mix the powder with some medium could be good too.
The new paint form GW for it is alright, looks fine, saves you a bunch of mixing if you plant to use it often. Bear in mind that only really copper, bronze and such metals corrode with verdigris, silver metals tend not to.
The colour of the special effect paint falls roughly half way between the green and blue edge paints.

I created my own patina wash with some Light Blue paint darkened with some darker green, Liquitx mat medium, Liquitex flow aid and distilled water.
One part mat medium, one part water, 1/12 part flow aid, 1/6 part paint.

I've used ground up pastels mixed with white spirit:
After it dries I wipe away some of the excess with my finger then do a light drybrush with brass or gold. Automatically Appended Next Post: Before I do the pigment wash I do a greeny brown ink wash.

I had it for Christmas. I've used it and was impressed. I thinned it down as I required it to sit in small gaps.
As mentioned it could save a lot of mixing as I used to have to do, but also as mentioned it only happens on copper and bronze type metals.
The colour match is good. Just think statue of liberty.
