So im gonna start playin fantasy, im a 40 k player as of now and am interested in fantasy, anyways i need to build a 500 point army and idk what to make, ill tell you a bit of what i like, im not big into magic, i have a obsession with vampires so im leaning towards them but im afraid they jave to much magic for me to enjoy, i was also lookin at a ranged wood elf army as i play a close combat daemon army of khorne right now and i dont wanna burn myself out on daemons, if ranged wood elves arnt relevant would a close combat vampire army with not much magic be good? I love vampire lords cause they crush everything in close combat, please give me a little advice on armies and anything that sounds like me. Either long range battle or in close and crush things. Hi JJ 40K. Have you considered Dwarfs. You would have no magic but the ability to negate it well enough, a very big potential for a ranged army, and some decent CC troops.

As for Vampires although I don't use them and only have experience fighting them i would say magic should be quite high on the agenda for a vampire army. And also with wood elves although they have great BS and make a good ranged army you have to consider that magic is also important for them too. However that is not to say that it would be impossible to make a decent ranged or CC orientated vampire or wood elf army without magic

Some magic is ok i just dont want a army that is all magic, i love face smashing armies or hit and run armies, i just have a thing for vampires and i love the vampire lord models, i dont really like dwarves for sone reasob, just not attracted to there models

I mean im ok with magic as long as i got my guys who are close combat beasts and can go smash face, i just dont want a bumch of wizards back casting spells, i want guys who will just anihilate everything in close combat

How about Warriors of Chaos? although points wise they are expensive they can trample over anything in CC and you have some magic.

However if you really do love vampires I would give them a go possibly use stand-ins for a battle or two and see if you like their playstyle? Also vamps do have some very nasty CC units e.g. crypt horrors

I really like big nasty cc hq's ie my bloodthirster in 40k

Is vlad constien any good? He sounds mean, and he can revive himself? That sounds awesome, otherwise i love the model for the mounted Lords especially the one on horse
