Looking to commission an Iron Warrior should pad badge. I would like something that matches the style of the Forge World badge used on the Rhino and Land Raider doors below.
I'm looking for a set of 5, and you will be free to do some variations on the theme if you think you can really make it shine.
Sadly, with my physical limitations, I'll never be able to sculpt at such a fine level.
Shoot me a PM with your rate, and portfolio.

Thanks so much.

Yeah, I looked at those. Sadly, they are pre HH, and have no chaos star behind them, AND don't look especially like the Rhino doors, nor do they look especially "Armored Skull" to me.
I'm not sure how they think that looks ANYTHING like an Iron Warrior badge honestly.

But thank you for taking the time to respond. It's appreciated.

I've looked at that one and the general consensus is that it's too old, and not quite to scale. Thanks for pointing it out though.

Have you tried Shapeways or similar 3d printing places. I found this and this. I don't think either are exactly what you are looking for. Maybe contact the authors and they may be able to modify or create a new one. Good luck.

Well, I think you're going to have a tough time getting that much detail on a space marine shoulder pad. If you can give me some dimensions on the shoulder pad in millimeters I can take a stab at it for you.

I think you will have to model it instead of 3D print as the resolution your looking for would be hard to get.

Is it on a standard SM size sholder pad you would like them?

Careful I have CDO it’s like OCD but in alphabetical order LIKE IT SHOULD BE!!!!!!

Make it idiot proof and someone will make a better idiot.

I actually did order 10 Iron Warrior pads from ShapeWays. They really just don't have the resolution required to do the job yet. I actually plan on posting the results sometime soon.

Yes. Standard CSM pad. I know it's possible, because I've seen others pull it off, albeit, with a lot more skill and steady handedness than I have.

Were you talking 3D or traditional sculpt?

You're never going to get an exact match outside of the OOP GW ones, but Puppetswar have you covered.

Gah! Someone had the same idea when I was posting!

I meant digital, assuming you wanted it to look exactly like those doors, its a really tight squeeze for all thats going on there (IMO, I dont play space marines, so its hard for me to judge as I dont pay that much attention to the minis I've seen).

I was actually looking at the PW shoulders for a while, but was holding out hope that I could come up with something closer to either the original GW shoulder pad, or the Forgeworld Rhino door stylings. If I can't find someone to do the sculpt, I'll probably just go with a GS press mold of the chaos lord terminator chaos skull icon. It's not quite as "armored" as I'd like, but it's free, and I can mold it a million times if I like.

Yeah, I actually think 3D printing wont be able to get the detail. I got an order of IW pads from Shapeway a week ago, and they just don't have the resolution. This was with their "Fine Detail" print.

You need to order Frosted Ultra Detail for 28mm mini parts. I did for some of my own stuff and it worked out fine.

I use the pads on the GW website on all my IW's and they fit just fine. I've got a fair few photos on my commission site too. I think they are still solidly to scale. I'm pretty sure they replaced the mold in the last few years cause the last 100+ of them I've ordered have been really crisp and clean.

That's what I have. I'll take some pictures tonight and post them so you guys can see the quality. It's really bad, like....BAD. Maybe post a few of your own? I'd like to see what your look like.

Oh wow, those actually look really great. Did you do anything to them? Are those just stock? I have been told repeatedly that they are the wrong scale, but yours seem perfect. Do you have any more pics? Different perspective shots?

And with Hulk's suggesting it on top of Tomcat's I guess it's time for me to do a test order. I can't believe I didn't check more sources for those reviews I read.

IF this works, you guys have made my day. It's the last bit I need to make my IW look just like I want.

I'll get some more pics uploaded ASAP dude. They're pretty much standard. Just a quick cleanup to remove the minimal amount of flash.
