No kinks, no nooks, no crannys... Rocksolid. Can't comment on the competitiveness of it though, not a tourmanent player.

Thanks dude. Appreciate it. I am curious as to its competitiveness though. Is there any changes you would make to the list? I'm pretty set on it, but I'm open to ideas if they're improvements.

I play Ravenwing in competition, and I can tell you from experience your two banes are going to be bodies on the field to hold objectives, and dealing with mass fire. Weight of numbers will be something to take into consideration.

Personally I play 4 maxed out bike squads with two melta guns and each with a melta attack bike attatched, one five man command squad with a grenade launcher, an apothecary carrying the banner of devestation, sammy on his jetbike, and a dark shroud.

This allows you 12 meltas for armor and annoying targets. The command squad and sammy pack enough plasma to mow down and make termies cry, not to mention when all together, you have sammy tanking for the apoth and an entire squads for look out sir who all have feel no pain.

Keep everyone in a tight formation (at least one bike from each squad within 6 of the banner) and you have your biggest punch. 96 bolter shots at 24", just from your regular bikes. add another 16 to that if your attack bikes are also in 6 of the banner. You have the option depending on the game and opponent to break down into up to 12 scoring units, of keep your squads at 6 each and still have 8 scoring units. Personally I do the later, and have the attack bikes hunt armor and then sit on objectives.


It makes for tight playing I know. It take practice and is unforgiving of the smallest mistake in competition, but totally worth it. I go head to head with Deathwing and Space puppies every week and it makes my night to watch squad after squad of termies die off because of the sheer amount of saves they have to take.

List sounds pretty solid though. Best way to find out is to play and play and play. One key thing though, get a strategy on what to do if you don't get first turn. That's always a killer.

I do as well, and I was running a Knight heavy list for a while, but I found that against most armies I'm seeing (we're doing 1500 Rogue Trader season right now) while the plasma talons cut through a lot, the sheer volume of shots I can put out with bolters and the banner actually surpasses the amount of kills I get with the talons on a regular basis.

I was comtemplating that banner even in this list, I can still keep it near a sizeable number of bolt guns....

4 shots per bike at 24" all the time, hell yes. If anything, it makes you more effective. For 65 points, you quadruple the amount of firepower from your non special weapons bikes. There are trade offs in taking each banner. Personally, if I could run that AND fortitude....(maybe for my 1850 list ) that'd be scary. A liby on a bike with a command squad carrying the fortitude, you keep everyone in a phalanx formation, you've got a ton of fire raining down quickly, and they all have FNP. Baaaaabye.

My other thought was to run a Ravenscar list. Ravenwing brings the banner and scars bring a whole lot of ass whoopin.

A hell drake or two will ruin your day. Get some anti air in there.

Before you take advice about bunching up check your opponent for deep striking templates.

I want to squeeze my librarian in somehow...he's 145 points...

Could be reduced to 85 points with a single mastery level and no invulnerable save... I kinda like the 2nd mastery level though...
