Ok, so I played
40k from 3rd edition to the end of 5th. haven't played since 6th came out. I lost my models and everything
40k related in a move, so now it's back to the drawing board. I like the idea of starting fresh, but i have to get the new rulebook and codex. I have been leaning towards the idea of a Nid army, for the simple fact i had a guard mech army for the longest in 4th and 5th. basically i had an armored company and a guard infantry regiment. TONS of models. TONS of vehicles. Here's a linky:
http://dicejunkie40k.blogspot.com/p/army-pictures.html I got tired of the vehicle rules so i decided an all bio style army would be a good way to go. i figureif everything in your army gets a save, or has to be wounded, then it's harder to kill. obviously gaunts, and the other squishy bugs are there for fodder. heavies that can save, regenerate, and save just appeal to me. with having found out about the nid release tomorrow, today, i feel i might be onto something. however the question remains wether or not the nids are a tactically viable list, or rather if they will be once the new codex comes out.
I get the feeling flyers will be in every army, and i have to read the changes in the new book, but i figure a massive amount of termagants, and their mama's (forget their names, but they poop out termagants), a zoanthrope unit, a couple of the trygons, a couple genestealer broods, and a couple flying units would be mean. lemmie know if it sounds like i'm on the right track for 6th before i get into it too far.
