I'd not use it as a transport honestly. The rule should be fairly explanatory though, just read it.

Skies of Fury works for any unit transported by the storm raven.
including the dread.

This is my Rulebook. There are many Like it, but this one is mine. Without me, my rulebook is useless. Without my rulebook, I am useless.
Stop looking for buzz words and start reading the whole sentences.

Yes, skies of fury applies to any unit. Further if you put a locator beacon on the stormraven, they won't scatter so long as they are within 6" of it.
However, generally it's not worth it to use the stormraven as a transport unless you can put something really tough in it. If it crashes before the unit gets out, they are pretty much guaranteed to die.
I play blood angels. The only units I put in the storm raven are Mephiston, because his toughness is high enough to prevent the auto kill if it crashes, th/ss termies because they have the 3++ if it crashes, and either a furioso or death company dread with blood talons bc it is just too good to pass up putting in one.
Generally the stormraven acts most effeciently as a gun ship that can crap out a dreadnought in someone's face. Just my opinion.

As long as you intend to drop the unit off on the first time you enter play there isn't as much to worry about.
Since Interceptor fire takes place at the end of your movement phase they will already be disembarked in the event your Raven is shot down.
My brother has used a Grav Dev Cent+ Shield Eternal CM to good effect this way.

Aren't termies 5++? I don't have the new dex but I used to play blood angels.
Automatically Appended Next Post:
If they are 3++ then there has been way to much complaining about them lately.

Robzidious is talking about Thunder Hammer / Storm Shield terminators (often abreviated to th/ ss). They get a 3++ due to the shields.

That's actually a brilliant way to deliver some centurions and to ensure you get at least one round of shooting with them before they die.

They don't HAVE to use skies of blood/fury. The raven can always drop into skimmer mode and then they can assault or deploy normally. Not always highly recommended though!

Things still have to draw line of sight to your flyer to shoot at it, correct?
If you're utilizing official GW terrain, you can hide most flyers behind a Chaos/Imperial Bastion, Shrine of the Aquila, or Bascilica Administratum models. Storm Ravens ARE rather fat so sometimes it's easier said than done.

Its not even that - you cant move a SR on 6" or less, to let them disembark normally, as the model is larger than 6" in all directions.

He means it needs to move more than 6" to get all its bits on the table (you can't have wings hanging over the edge for instance).

Exactly that - all the model has to be within the borders of the table after the move, and a SR / Vendetta simply cannot move 6" or less and achieve that. As it cannot move 6" or less, the moels on board cannot disembark normally

So the deployment would look like this:
Raven comes on field. Moves 18-36 inches toward enemy. Shoots guns.
ENEMY TURN: Shoots down raven-everyone takes Str10 hit and are set around the base of the model before it's removed.
OR
ENEMY TURN: Raven survives, drops guys off and moves 18-36 inches, shoots guns.
OR
ENEMY TURN: Raven survives, goes into hover mode, drops guys off and moves 6 inches and shoots guns
I guess I'm asking if I can drop my guys off on the second turn on the field and then continue to zoom, or I do I have to go into hover mode to drop guys?

im pretty sure you can't come in from reserves hovering anyways

You'd be wrong then. There is no such restriction on flyers.

Do you have to be in hover mode to deploy under the model?
