Well the exocrine is likely going to come with a higher points cost so whilst you can take one of them you might be able to take more pyrovores/biovores. As a result whilst they might have the same focus in the end they might well fill different niches within the army.

Also it depends on what the final stats and abilities of each are - the pyrovore was a (sadly bad) unit that charged up and wanted to get up close whilst the boivore was artillery. The exocrine is likely going to be artillery so chances are it won't even replace the pyrovores place in the army unless it changes to artilery.

Sort of. According to the rumors, the exocrine is going to be short ranged artillery, like the vindicator.

The biovore will probably continue being long ranged artillery.

I love threads which start with no real discussion...

Why would one think the exocrine is replacing the bio/pyrovore? Is it small? is it able to be purchased in squads? does it drop templates of spores or flames?

everything has a use. just find it.

I wonder if the Exocrine might not have a third, more forcused shot type that is closer to a D level attack. Not D level of course, but something longer ranged with armorbane and the ability to inflict multiple hits. Exocrines were supposed to be titan busters way back in the day. I still have my ArmorCast Exocrine sitting up on my bookcase looking for targets. Going to see if I can fit it on a oval base soon
