Was thinking of picking up a Chimera for my IG, then I thought, can you buy a Manticore instead and use magnets to have it interchangeable as a Chimera, or are there components missing that are required to make the Chimera? If so, I might just go for that instead.

Maybe a Hellhound instead?

No on the Manticore double as a Chimera, it could possibly be a Salamander. The old Hellhound metal kit is pretty easy double as a Chimera, the new kit is a no go.

I imagine thst the Manticore kit is missing the troop compartment sprue. That was always the differentiator between the chimera kit and the various artillery kits for Guard. You could of course convert your own troop bay for the manticore, or do your own missile module for the chimera if you want a modular tank.
