I recently came across these two articles. Looks like things in the US West Coast are getting serious now. I would urge anyone living in that area (as well as the west coast for the Northern and Southern American continents) to take precautions.

So do you have any articles or sources that have...y'know...a scrap of credibility or are we taking this stuff at face value? Looking around at those sources, I'm hardly convinced and I do live on the west coast.
It's conspiracy pandering at its worst. Illogical and fear-mongering.

I'd say we have a strong case of "Begging the Question" logical fallacies in the first article.
Don't get me wrong, Nuclear power plants going bad is not a nice thing to have happen, but nuclear power is still the way f the future, if we'd even look at LiFTR technology.

Who do you recommend we go to for that "scrap of credibility"? Especially since it's the MSM that is in question? Not that Im defending sources like the Examiner, just who does have any credibility left?

Ya....... I'm certain there will be some global repercussions from the Fukushima meltdown. I however won't be getting my information from examiner.com or a blog. I didn't even click the links.
Those web sights aren't credible. That's what he meant. Kind of "news" you might get from your Facebook feed. Try CNN, BBC, you know reliable. Sorry for being Eurocentric, but look at the flag. At least I didn't say FOX or CNBC. Or there's another one that sucks too I forget. I get my news from www.cracked.com and The Daily Show. They are frighteningly more reliable than any "news" network.

Yes, because the examiner is so reliable when it takes a picture of the tsunami wave, and says it's the spread of the radiation.
Quite frankly, for instances like this I'd just look to the government. They'd have nothing to gain by covering up any radiation effects from Fukishima.

Someone with more editorial control. The Examiner pretty much just takes 'write ins' from people and posts them up with a minimum amount of fact checking (let alone spell checking).

Generally speaking, and this comes from a good friend of mine who worked in the news industry for 10 years, a "great" source for "reliable" news is actually Reuters, and, if your subject is US Politics, surprisingly, al Jazeera.
This isn't to say that if Reuters isn't covering it, it's not real or not important.. Just that they are generally regarded as a high standard source for information.

al Jazeera
They get a bad rap cause terrorists go to them when they want to air a movie, but from what I here Al Jazeera is an otherwise excellent news service (not flawless of course, I've heard they're quite antisemitic for example).

Yeah, however, as they don't have any real pony's to race in US politics, they apparently tend to put things out as they are, and not spun to fit a certain agenda (like Fox, MSNBC, CNN, etc)

CNN is the best option for American news. It still falls victim to 24-hour-news-network-itis but its the least skewed. That being said BBC because they don't care about American bureaucracy. I could understand Al Jazeera for the same reason. But if people start dying in droves from radiation sickness or whatever I'm sure it will become a front runner on every station/outlet. Two little blurbs on crappy websites that make you push a button to see the next page does not a crisis make.

Wiener dogs have big ears, and when you drop them, they make natural glider landings, right onto unsuspecting cats...

I'm guessing, in similar fashion to reboot for Rise of the Planet of the Apes, the Wiener Dogs serve the role of Chimpanzee (General) while the breeds like Rottweiler, German Shepherd, Tibetan Mastiff, etc fulfill the roles of Gorilla and Orangutan?

Did you read through the facts they listed? Raptors in utah are dying so we will add that to our list of things the radiation is killing. Apparently anytime starfish start to die and birds of prey as well it must be due to this. I doubt all of this is related. Also, things like concrete and other material are already radioactive.

They've probably been silent because nothing is happening, and they don't want to put out redundant statements just to reassure foreigners.
I don't care at all about the rest of the world feeling the consequences of it as much as I care about fukushima prefecture itself being ruined. A lot of history was lost in the typhoon, and a lot of natural beauty. The radiation just made it that much harder to fix the damage.
