trying to decide on a 1000 pt list. im not really sure on wich route to go, and if either would be considered too beardy at the 1000 (no heavy support) level.

list one:

commander, airburster, burst cannon, drone controller 2x gun drones (joins burst suit)
commander, missile pod, missile pod, target lock, drone controller 1 marker drone. (joins drone squad)

3 crisis suits, each with plasma, plasma, bonded
2 crisis suits. 1 with missile, drone controller, target lock, 1 with missile pod, missile pod, target lock 4 marker drones in unit, bonded
1 crisis suit, burst cannon, burst cannon, 2x gun drones
1 crisis suit, fusion, fusion, CFDS

Riptide hbc, sms, ecpa

4 marker drones
= 999

list 2:

commander airburster,burstcannon, drone controller, cfd

3 crisis suits, each with plasma/plasma
2 crisis suits each with burst cannon, burst cannon, 4 gun drones
2 crisis suits 1 with missile, target lock, dorne controller, 1 with missile, missile, target lock, 4 marker drones
riptide, ion, plasma, ewo
riptide, hbc, ecpa, sms
= 992

wich is better? is the second list too cheesy fo 1000 pts, especially since i know i probally wont see any enemy heavy support? (this is for a competetive league play - but i dont want to get too ridiculus, and dual riptide at 1000 *might*?)

I mean, these lists are brilliant, why has no one thought of putting two riptides at 1,000 points before? Maybe you should cut some stuff and just use Kroot for your troops choice, then you can bring three!

Well obviously people have thought of a dual riptide at 1000.... And no I'm not trolling. However you seem to be at top form.

On topic, I don't like kroot. They may be "the best" troop choice tau have... I beg to differ, plus I don't like the models, or the fluff.

How exactly would a proper gaurd or orks list wipe me out in 3 turns, with either build? (No heavy support choices) I'm simply curious and such insight will help refine the list, and I may end up dropping both riptides. I simpy have the models, and plan to use them eventually, just gotta figure out when is the best (fair and fun, but still strong to use) time / points level to take them.
