Actually i'd argue that they're to scale and 40k tanks are just small

I wouldn't argue with that! In reality though, its surprising how small many tanks actually are. The idea of the hull of a tank (not counting the turret) towering over a person is kind of odd. I went to the cantigny tank park in the suburbs of Chicago and found that I'm taller than the hull of virtually all tanks, from ww2 stuff to an abrams.


I get that, i'm actually curious where the idea of tanks being towering came from. Tempted to point fingers at the boom of WW2 movies from back when, but I could be wrong (only just though, Hollywood has a lot like that to answer for ).

I mean first and foremost, if a tank is that "towering"... explain how people expect to reasonably climb up and down through the turret on more than a few tanks?
