If GW actually ran events and tournaments, this document would be worth the pixels it's read with. Talk to your opponent about what kind of game you want to play. Use your pie hole. And so on...

Obviously I talk to my opponent, but I know a lot of people were waiting for "Games Workshop" to say that Forgeworld was "official" or "legal" or something. And now they have.

As much as I'd love to agree with you (I'm very pro FW), you are overlooking one thing.
"When attending events at Warhammer World,"
This is a document about playing at Warhammer World.
That's it.

Yeah, I get that, but (to me) it seems the majority of people against FW are basing their argument on "just because FW say it's legal, doesn't mean it is" or " FW isn't GW, they can't say they're official".
The document states:
Games Workshop (Citadel, Forge World or Warhammer Forge)
So GW are acknowledging publicly that FW is a part of GW.
That seems to be something that would quell a lot of anti- FW arguments, no?

Can I ask a serious question. Is anyone's local group not allowing FW stuff? I ask cuz this has never been brought up at a local game or local tournament. I know alot of the big tourneys don't allow it but on a local level is this even a issue?
I only ask cuz I see this topic so often and it perplexes me. We allow it as long as it isn't experimental and you have the book.

Won't matter in my area as we didn't have any of those control freak people trying to deny Forgeworld in games.
But happy to see it allowed now even at Warhammer World. Some used this as their scapegoat for not allowing, 'since GW didn't allow it at THEIR events'....which was as junk arguement anyway as this isn't a GW event.

Agreed, anyone who is trying to be that technical is someone I would never play, however a buddy who is an independent retailer told me that supposedly FW may be getting a store in Texas to ship stuff around the USA, if that's the case then people cannot complain about "not having access" to the books which is another silly complaint I keep hearing, especially because I have the book and am willing to let others read it. People are just scared of the unknown and don't want to fight new lists or units, or if they are power gamers accuse FW of being OP because of some of the combos you can do which is NORMAL in most of the regular Codex's. I can respect others opinions but only if they make a VALID argument, cue angry nerd saying im wrong.

I use it or I don't play but in my opinion this is tacit approval for FW by GW finally. They allow FW in their tournaments so the only thing now holding FW back is individual TOs and its their prerogative as it always has been anyway. Yay GW.

If you dont short hand your list, Im not reading it.
Example: Assault Intercessors- x5 -Thunder hammer and plasma pistol on sgt.
or Assault Terminators 3xTH/SS, 2xLCs
For the love of God, GW, get rid of reroll mechanics. ALL OF THEM! |

Of course they acknowleding that. That is the way it has always been.
There doesn't even exist a company called Forgeworld.
Forgeworld is just the name of a website used by GW to sell 'special' miniatures for extra high prices.
To get proof, just look at the contact adress listed at the Forgeworld website:
Forge World
Games Workshop Ltd.
Willow Road
Lenton
Nottingham
NG7 2WS
And now look at the contact adress listed at GW site:
Games Workshop
Direct Sales
Willow Road
Lenton
Nottingham
NG7 2WS
They are just two faces of the same company.
People who say that Forgeworld is not 'legal' because they are not GW are clearly mad. Forgeworld is as much part of GW as they could possibly be. Just because they sell through a different website, does not mean they are a different company.

For the record: <----- This guy is 100% for using Forge World models in 40k games. Be they tournaments, at home, at the game store, in the back of a bus, where ever. <---- This guy also knows that this How to Play Games at Warhammer World document will do nothing to change anti-FW sentiment. Nothing.

Unfortunately there are people who will yell until they are blue in the face that they are not, and that FW is not legal, until it's basically all on one website and there's a gigantic FAQ on the main gw page saying so

Actually, technically they are two separate companies. They're registered separately with Her Majesty's Office of Revenue and Customs (HMRC).
Their offices just happen to be at other ends of the same road and they have many of the same shareholders and directors. The separation of companies is purely for tax purposes though - they use the same in-house Games Workshop publisher.

I guess this will mean the end of:
-Proxies
-Unpainted armies
-non-based models
-Non-GW models.
And from now on everybody will play:
-strict WYSIWYG, for every weapon.
- Mandatory Movement trays if you have more than one model
Games Workshop has spoken. This is now the law....
