Hi all,
This is the first army I have completed and my first time painting in about 12 years.
Most of it is airbrushed as I just wanted tabletop quality in a short time. All up it comes to 2500 points on the nose and took about 72 hours to complete the painting.
You'll see I have gone heavily with the green energy glow, it was intentional, the colour is there to break up the red and I just gave the model what I thought looked right.
Hope you enjoy.

Ah, okay, i see it now.
Because my first impression was "Well, tripping i suppose is one way to pose a 115.00 model."
Looks better from the side shot, to be sure.
Nice color scheme on the army btw.

It has been black washed but not the vehicles, I'm not very experienced with the washes and don't know how to apply it to them without making them too dirty, know any good tutorials?

I thought the Wraith Night was trying out for Lord of the Dance. This color scheme is so unique, I got to give you big points there. It is tough to come up with unique color schemes for 40k with so many players out there. Nice work.

Mostly it comes down to put the wash where you want to darken/give depth to the model. Be liberal with it in general.

Your paints are not thin enough. Needs more wash. |

You have a great paint scheme, and a wonderful grasp of how to use shading with your colors to get maximum effect with the minimum amount of unnecessary work.
However, I do not like that Wraithknight. Admittedly, my primary issue with it is the large clear acrylic flight rod. The whole point of minis is to deceive the eye into believing that we're looking at something real, just on a tiny scale. A clear rod jammed up his sternum completely breaks the suspension of disbelief and forces the eye to acknowledge that we're just looking at a (still well painted!) toy. Granted, this is my personal bugaboo, and not generally one that the wargaming community as a whole shares. While the paint job is, here and throughout, flawless, I also do not like the pose of the Wraithknight. The whooshing, arms back, face-first look seems very anime to me. It might look more, say, Rocketeer-esque on a clunkier model, but with the sleek lines and bright colors of your army, the anime parallel is too strong (to my eye) not to draw.
On a more positive note, I'd like to see some close ups of those Warp Spiders. They look great! And that Khaine is the best I've ever seen, bar none. I like that you eschewed the normal melty-orange-red-lava-monster look and went with something original!

Finally!!! Someone gets it!!! That's exactly what I was going for.
@Jimsolo: I respect the opinion on the knight but I wanted something anime.
Thanks for the feedback and here are the close ups requested.
I can't do eyes, they are all just inked in.

Well, in which case, if you were intending to get an anime look to the Wraithknight, you nailed it dead on! (I still don't like the flight rod, but that's my personal issue that shouldn't confront you )
Suspicions confirmed on Khaine, btw. If I ever knuckle under and start an Eldar army (and I will, someday) I'm going to pay to have one painted like this. (Assuming you don't mind, I'll add it to my queue.)

No worries on copying it. The thought came to me about the 4th colour change on him, I'm pleased with the result.
As for the knight I hear you. I originally had him on 2 bits of 1mm rod coming up through his lower foot. It was discreet and had him a cm off the floor but he wobbled too much and it kept bending and not maintaining the pose.
You don't notice the rod in the flesh and it can't be seen without picking up the model. Made the base myself the same dimensions as a large oval base.

I've searched for tutorials without luck. I have questions for you all. In regards to washing the grav tanks....
Do I wash:
The crevices
All low areas
The whole model
If I wash it all do I wipe the excess off the flat panels?
I really don't want to put a step wrong. I have a tourney coming up so 0 margin for error.
Thanks

OrcPainterNerd on youtube has a Dark Angels Rhino video that shows the process of the Pin Wash. Forgive me if you're familiar with the concept... Basically, the surface is prepped with a gloss varnish and then an oil paint wash is just dabbed into the pannel lines. The capilary action of oil wash and the surface tention of the glossy pannels just sucks the fluid right into the cracks. Hit with a matt varnish after all said and done. Here is a link to the video at the time index (6:30 or so into the vid): LINK Hope this helps!

I disagree with most responses here, I think the clean airbrush paintjob you gave them perfectly suits the eldar. No need for washes. Aesthetically I think this is very pleasing.
I would leave as is.

Boom! Leman Russ Commander

The tanks could use a wash to make the panels pop.I think some stripes could also break up the monotone color of the tanks.
The avatar color scheme looks great, and 72 hours on a 2 army at this level is pretty outstanding.
Good job

Cheers illumini, so basically wash the crevices? I'll give it a go and post. I want to also darken up areas of the dark so I'll wash them out or mix some black in. I wish I could highlight further but there is nowhere to go from fluro red...
