Hi there.
i am righting some special rules for a 40k tournament, the idea is that at each stage you get plus 500 points to spend on troops and unique rules that can give you the edge over you opponent
and i have gotten a bit stuck for ideas. so far i have; charging barrage,bezerk and last stand and deep-strike block. any suggestions wil be greatly appreciated.

charging barrage allows:
A squad on the charge may fire at the chargee(Not sure what the term is)
1 shot per model+1 shot per inch(per model) until charge hits home plus 2d6 at -2 ws/bs and lose +1 charge bonus
rule-use as many times as you want for that squad only up to a maximum of 3 squads

bezerk:
chosen squad armor and invun save go to 2+
gain +3A all bonuses stack
and gain strength 10
cannot use any ranged weapon
rule-use on one squad once per game squad is then stuck like this to death or end of game

Last stand:
when you are left with 25% of your army you may use this rule
all base stats are improved by +2

Lol, those are some crazy overpowered rules right there.

For example, I could have crazy berserker Grots for 3pts each that are S10 and have a 2+ invulnerable save. Thats worse (though funnier) than a Reaver titan

Other rules, like deep strike blocker, will just ruin entire armies whilst adding nothing to the game.

In the nicest possible manner, my suggestion is that you let someone else write the rules for this event - these are terrible and suggest you really don't know what your doing. They'll ruin the tournament, I can promise you that

Well the charging barrage...
it could be possibly reworked to be more appropriate like a charger can shoot snapshots with assault weapons that are not templates cause it's not pleasant to run in flames y'know.

What i'd add: assault grenades disallow a charged unit (primary target, not the ones of the disordered charge) shoot overwatch. U see, irl there's a type of frag grenades used exactly to avoid being shot at when you charge a fortified position. And now orkses suddenly have point in assault nades at all! Supporting fire can still be used ofc, cause basically, many assaulters have such nades and it mustn't cripple tau gunline too hard even though i totally dislike gunline playstile

Berserk rage is way too much. Let's not even think bout grots cause they're not making it there but what about some cheap troops like cultists, imperial guardnmen and so on. Now they can wreck anyone in mellee.

U see, homebrew rules should change things SLIGHTLY. What about a Rage, Furious charge and FNP but a d3+1 penalty to ws...and probably initiative untill the end of the phase (or next phase). For every sucksessful fnp place a marker on the models that made the saves. At the end of the phase (or next phase) they suffer an unsaved wound for every marker on them without armor or invulnerable saves allowed.
This can be reworked ofc but tbh, i like the spirit of this rule.
