Morning all,

New to the forums here.

This may be a little late, but only just discovered the replica chainswords after seeing one at my local Gamesworkshop. I found a post on here that stated another company was making a limited run of them too.

I contacted the company, but due to THQ going bankrupt they no longer produce them.

So my question is, does anyone have any idea's where I can get one from? I'm in Australia so that makes things a little more diffictult too.

Cheers

Michael

I think they were released as a promo product for space marine the console game.

Limited run, studiomax I think did them. Would imagine they would be rather hard to find now. Lovely looking piece of 40k memorabilia.

It was released as a limited run of 500 (sold out) by Tri-Force:

Here an official announcement:
http://www.lounge.belloflostsouls.net/showthread.php?17992-Licensed-Captain-Titus-Chainsword-to-be-released
Licensed Captain Titus Chainsword to be released

Now that you have killed thousands of Orks in the "Space Marine" video game, you can own Captain Titus's chainsword! And it is freaking HUGE!

Tri-Force, a new company that produces full size replicas of in-game props from Gears of War and Mass Effect, has acquired a license to produce FULL SIZE replicas from the Warhammer 40,000 universe.

And Propworx, the prop company and auction house that has done the Battlestar Galactica, Stargate and Iron Man auctions, and is owned by a 40K nut (me) is going to be distributing these amazing props and working with Tri-Forceon some special offers as well just for 40K fans.

The chainsword will be a limited edition of 500, cost approximately $ 650 and be available Q1/Q2. It is awaiting final Games Workshop approval. It is about 4' long and is scaled for a Space Marine, not a puny human!

Tri-Force displayed their amazing products at the New York Comic Con and here are the first photos of the Chainsword.

A cheaper and different one is still in production by another company:

Is it bad that I really want to cannibalize that old Husqvarna my Dad keeps for parts and make one... (not operational unless...)

How much do you think one of the Gamesworkshop units would be worth if buying it from a random person?

Moving flat out..

I put a deposit down for one of these at the New York Comic Con a few years back. After about one year of back and forth with Tri-Force and them with THQ/GW, I was told that they were not going to sell them and I received a refund.

I know some were given to video game reviewers maybe? Not sure..

For $150 and the right tools, even without the tools and chainsaw with access to a pawnshop... I'd say you could make an operational one. The bulkiest thing would be the gas tank, you could get a tiny one since you wont be using it a ton..

I'd say if anyone has the desire they should go for it! (Just don't sue me if you chop yours or your neighbor's arm off )

Resin Printer (minaitures) is a 4K printer with one of the largest build volumes available for a resin printer (192mm x 120mm x 245mm) with an amazing .01mm resolution! This professional printer is one of the best resin printers on the market!

FDM Printer (terrain) also has one of the largest build volumes available for an FDM printer (400mm x 400mm x 450mm) and has an amazing ,05mm build accuracy.
