so mates... i had a bit of a creative moment today... was waiting to bring my wife to bed^^ and then i had to sit at the desk and saw a rocket head in half...if you look into my material gallery...i always go treasure hunting on new years day... and we collect with the family plastic garbage from all the fireworks... well one of those firecracker caps i sawed in half and they now serve as a shoulderpad on both sides... together with tape and some tapegluerolls...this makes the mockup upper half of my paladin knight...

I like the idea of the shoulder pads, and the ball joints seem pretty cool, but I'm not sure about the arms... I assume it's yet to have an elbow/forearm, so it's still early days, but it seems a tad too skinny for guard. Maybe a few wires/gubbinz will help it, but I can't really say much at this point.

it is a mockup... the arms will be thicker...of course... i used ballpen caps atm for the upper arm section...elbows and under arms will follow... the balljoints are actually christmas plastic balls... which have this tiny thingy where they hang on to the christmas tree... there the cpas hold on to now... it fits like a glove...originally i plan to use PVC tube to make the limbs from... i am a bit at a loss here as to how long the limbs should be... so the current cpas are more there to show the general idea that is currently spooking in my mind...

and of course there will be details... how much i am currently thinking about...with no aparent answer yet to that question...

As far as how long arms and legs should be try buying a wooden artist mannequin. you can get them in several sizes. i used to have one in 12 inches but i know they are available in 6, 12, 18 and 24 inches and are available in any fine art store and some craft shops. i actually use them for proportional comparison an some of my drawings....

those artist mannequin´s are rather interesting... we own one... one of the puppets around 30CM tall ones i think... need to get her out... i was eyeing for half a year in a crappy shop a very small one...then when i finally wanted to buy it it was all gone...darn^^

at LDD... i was very lucky to salvage two balls from the christmas tree ...they curiously not got shelfed again...

at dave... no...no stubby lascanons here... i plan to make a fist/open hand...maybe with that flamer attached i did earlier on...and one with some sort of gatling gun attached...

what i am currently figuring out too is how to do the abdomen, hips and so on... hopefully a solutional inspiration will happen to me^^

aaah i love those mannequins.. have a couple, the smallest being a bit smaller then my pinky, little one but still i like em!

You can rent it for a mere 2dollars a day, oh and have some beach property near a nice place in the Ukraine, the sunsets are a little oddly colored though, and you must sign a waiver regarding the growth of extra body parts.
