Hey guys!
Do you all remember the Ultramarines movie? Not impressed? Well, a lot of people weren't. A few started thinking "We can do that better". This has led to projects like The Lord Inquisitor or Exterminatus, projects that I'm REALLY looking forward to.
I've been asked to spread the word about another projects like the other two. Simply put, it's a project that wants to turn the Horus Heresy book series into a TV series. A show by fans, for the fans.
Right now they've got quite a few people behind them, making 3D models of Heresy style armor, tanks and such. They also run online sessions where they stream the process so we can all see what's going on and how everything's being made.
As I said, I've been asked to spread the word. The more people we can gather behind this, the better. If you're interested and/or think you can help the project in any way, visit https://www.facebook.com/HorusHeresyProject?fref=ts .
Come join the live sessions (currently on Skype due to bad weather in USA interrupting Livestream.com) where the masterminds behind this show the process. They're happy to explain everything to curious minds, and they're really passionate about this.
Help us get a good TV adaptation of this amazing sci-fi universe!

No, not yet. However, the guys behind (I won't call myself a member of the creative team yet, I've just been asked to do a bit of promotion) are in contact with GW and will soon present geedubs with a business proposal.
The Lord Inquisitor is made by a very, very small team in their spare time. Should this project get the green light to go commercial, the team would be able to work full time (I believe, might have to talk to the creative team to confirm this.)

I'll be honest, live action really isn't how I'd want to see warhammer. Good luck though.

I'd like to see who is going to produce (finance this).
To be successful a TV series would need to tie into merchandise . Since GW has the lock on 30k/40k product and marketing AND rigidly controls their IP I cannot see any money men willing to stump up the cash for a series which will have limited mainstream appeal and this most likely not be generating a return.
The HH is a pretty stupid starting point TBH. Astartes, Primarchs and Titans and god emperors and Chaos daemons......Its bloated. The powers of the Astartes should be teased. Daemons whispered of. Titans are a finale as are Primarch battles (but and Eldar Avatar getting his butt kicked by all and sundry should be in every week).
The HH is just too much when you can be subtler.

Mr. Burning: Different means of financing is going to be discussed with GW soon.
Soladrin: The live-action stuff is (as far as I know) only for a select few scenes. There's a lot of work being put into 3D models of marines, tanks and weapons.

What kind of experience do your 3d modelers have? What other productions have they worked on before?

Perhaps a live action Inquisitor TV series would be better? You are focusing on a small area, but can bring in all the various aspects of the 40k universe in a more controllable way. I think the option of doing the Horus Hersey will be too CGI intensive to be cost effective.
Shows like Dr Who work because the use CGI in the correct way and the two blend together seamlessly, they are able to balance the cost with the quality. With something like the Horus Heresy you are going to be CGI heavy, big time. This means that either the quality will suffer or that they have some major financial backing, which is unlikely. The Horus Hersey is just too big for a TV series, you are going to have too many fans asking why this or that isn't covered or why their favorite Chapter / Character isn't in the show. It will also be too confusing to non 40k gamers.
A live action Inquisitor themed TV show would be more focused, allow for "guest" appearances of aspects of the 40k universe, but would be more appealing to sci fi fans in general. I think the whole Gothic/Steampunk/Futuristic themes of Inquisitor would pull in more viewers... IMHO

Live your life that the fear of death can never enter your heart. Trouble no one about his religion. Respect others in their views and demand that they respect yours. Love your life, perfect your life. Beautify all things in your life. Seek to make your life long and of service to your people. When your time comes to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song, and die like a hero going home.

That's good experience, but what shows have they produced? If this team is going to be your animators, I'd like to know what they have animated in the past. You say 'movies and games' but which movies and games?

This is important stuff. Because there is a very big difference between promotional art, 3d modeling and animation. Some of the images on the facebook show a lot of cut corners on the modeling and a lack of detail. Most outstanding to me is the console on the jetbike, which just looks slapped together. Plus, I may have missed it, but is there any animation done? Or just modeling?

I dunno, some of the Chaos Gate stuff was pretty badass...
It could work but they'd need to make the animated scenes pretty good in order to fit in properly...

That's Final Liberation, not Chaos Gate.
And yes, I have fond memories of Final Liberations cutscenes. However, even that had relatively short Space Marines.

Cosplayers, costume designers and craftsmen! We need you to feature your costumes and props in our green screen shoot!
We need creepy mechanicus, techpriests, servitors, high-ranking medical staff, incense carriers and high-ranking officials - anyone who might be present at the creation of a Space Marine!
Whilst you are working on your costumes we have been busy getting together actors, storyboard artists and locations.
If you want to create your own costume and/or send us pics then please email Paul (The team leader) at animatordesigner@gmail.com. We will give you as much help/feedback as possible!

I've been told there will be bacon sandwiches and cake on location for those who want to participate.
I think you should write an email to Animatordesigner@gmail.com to get a proper answer. I just get told to share a post and.. That's what I do.
