Hi its my first time doing this so I'll try my best. I'm fairly new so any tips would be great!

HQ Company Command Squad melta gun x4
Chimera - heavy flamer

Vet melta x3
Chimera- heavy flamer

Vet grenade launcher x 3
Auto cannon
Chimera- heavy flamer

Vet grenade launcher x3
Auto cannon

Vendetta x1

Battle tank

Exterminator
side heavy bolters

This one of my first list and tried to make sure that everything had a job. The non melta vets would sit on objects while the other went around tank hunting.

Too random, lots of things don't quite fit together.

As a general rule, the best special weapons are plasma and melta guns. Don't bother about the others. (Falmers maybe on the right unit, but not often).

The Exterminator seems to not really be doing anything in this list, I would dump it for the points to upgrade your second and third vet squads.

With the CCS having meltas, I would run 1 melta chimera vet squad, and 2 plasma chimera vet squads, giving you more firepower, and an extra chimera for better mobility. (Note you can palce your objectives midfield so you don't have to waste a unit sitting on them; infantry blob are best for home objectives when you get to higher points levels).

The vendetta is solid as ever. A good anti-air, and anti-tank unit.

Not sure about the battle tank. Yes it can be very good, but it hates people hiding in cover. A Demolisher might actually be a better choice in this army, as it can then drive at the front of your army, and at least partially hide your chimeras.

Hope this is useful.

Thanks for the advice . The only thing is and its probably a bad thing is I'm afraid of plasma on vets with there +5 saves.

I would disagree with the following.

1. All special weapons (save maybe the sniper rifle) serve a purpose, the GL and Flamer although are best with the lower BS normal guardsmen. So in a vet list don't use them, but I wouldn't want you to write them off as you are just begin to play 40k.

2. The Exterminator is my favorite LR. Hands down. With HB it can target infantry, MCs, and light armed vehicles. It is the most versatile LR out there. So I'd keep it.

3. I'd keep the battle tank. I love the destructive power of the Demolisher but you have to get very close to use it. If you're are really worried about enemy cover saves, use the Eradicator. I loses a lot of power but still has some decent range.

These are my opinions.
