ok, so I've got a battleforce (cadian variety), and two Valkyries, not sure what direction to take my force. any suggestions/advice?

Well, I can't really give you any solid advice as with airborne IG there's a bit of a conflict;

1) The current Valkyries are a bit naff compared to the Vendetta on a points efficiency basis
2) The Vendetta is great and very effective, BUT
3) It is almost guaranteed to get a price rise, which could be crippling, in two-three months with the new Codex.

So, I would not flesh out your flyers just yet and magnetize every weapon on them. You'll want plenty of special weapons if you're using Veterans, if your local players permit FW you could run the Elysian list (IA8) and convert your Sentinel into the more effective Drop Sentinel, which is fluffy and can do heavy AT with its multi-melta.

For special weapons you'll probably be best off getting two more Command Squad boxes or getting the FW Hazard SWS conversion kits, which is more efficient money spending is your call. You'llprobably want at least another 10 man squad and a Company Command Squad built.

The other option requires patience, and that's waiting for the Codex release and the rumoured Veterans kit with greater specials (5 men) available however, I expect it still won't be as efficient as the FW solution.

Ok my advise and I think I speak for most of dakkadakka is:
