In the old codex it was hard to get templates into the army. In the new codex it does not seem so hard. Templates also seem very good in 6th edition.

1rst tier templates: The thorax swarm can be taken on flyrants, tervigon and tyranofexes. Not only that but these got much better. The crone is a flyer that comes with a flamer template.

2nd tier flame templates we have the expensive tyranofex's torrent template, and the warlord equipment poisen gun.

3rd ranking templates we have the pyranowores and the termagaunts S2 template. While not good, it is very cheap.

What do you think about an army taking advantage of theese good weapons? How would you build it and how would it play?

Pyrovores may have gotten a slight buff in stats that don't really matter for them. But then they were slapped with the removal of all deep strike abilities so they're still god awful.

Crones are likely going to be spammed heavily for their provision of good anti-air capabilities in a codex that sorely needs a way to deal with fliers, these are likely to be your main source of templates.

Rupture cannons got much, much cheaper making Rupture fexes more viable, so Acidfexes have competition there (though the days of the triple template Acidfex are gone now).

Webgants aren't the best but I suppose if you really want more templates, power to you.

I keep really trying to find a good reason to buy webgaunts but there really isn't too much. Isn't the template a pinning weapon. I supose that it could be effective if you could pin a unit in terrain just before something important was about to charge without grenades. S2 is still not impressive at all and they can't use them to pin on overwatch so one of the main draws of a template is lost there. seems to be a poor use of pts mostly.
