Hi can you recommend some tactics/lists for using my black templars vs some imperial fists (obviously objectives change it a bit)

my opponent takes primary detachment: sentinels of terra

libby in TDA with SS and bones of osrak
5 man tac squad in rhino
5 sniper scouts
5 sternguard in DP 4 combi meltas
1 contemptor mortis with kheres
1 thunderfire cannon
2 vindis
1 storm talon
5 man LOTD

allied
pedro kantor
4 honour guards
5 tac marines with plasma cannon

usually takes 3 centurions with grav cannons n amps too

I have access to
chapter master
2 PA chaplains
1 TDA chaplain
master of forge on bike with conversion beamer
10 honour guard

5 lightning claw termies
5 hammernators
5 normal termies
10 sternies
10 vanguard
1 mortis dread
1 contemptor dread
1 contemptor mortis dread

5 crusader squads (10 iniaties per squad)
4 neophytes (5 neophytes per squad)
10 assault marines
2 land raider crusaders
1 spartan assault tank
1 storm raven
1 rhino
2 drop pods
1 vindicator

his usual play style is to hide behind ruins on his board edge and make you come to him so he can pie plate you with vindis and grav cannons, he quite often puts the libby with the centurions and teleports them around the board

well then your job is to *not* go at him and instead, use your mobility to focus on objectives alone.

it doesnt look like he is packing too much AT, so take both LRCs and fill them with scoring troops.

take the hammernators led by a TDA chaplain for re-rolls.

you might also want to make use of the drop pods

take one to drop in a multi-melta dread (if you have it) and the other to drop in the 10 sternguard, preferably armed with combi-grav, combi-meltas and combi-plasmas.

His list will fold when you take out his Vindicators and Centurions, everything else is only half as scary.

thanks for the help sir Arun.

I did consider both LRCs and the spartan with two crusader squads, 2 neophytes and hammernators with a chappy.

keep the neophytes back for late game objective grabbing, roll the armour forward and lascannon the librarian into the dirt hopefully turn one (he shouldnt survive 4 twinlinked shots) then turn two drop the hammernators into the centurions and try to melta/lascannon the vindis with the tanks. the rest should just be 'clean up work'

remember that land raiders are essentially huge los blocking chunks of moving cover. so you can keep a small squad jogging behind them
