I want to have an army of the Athonian Tunnel Rats.
Any ideas how to make them?

Do you have any more information?

Are these from a book? Are they in the codex?

Can you tell us what you want the theme to be? Are they underhivers, stimm fiends, PDF?

This is all i know about them.

That's a bit vague.. From the pic it looks like he could be made of a mash-up of Death Korps and Cultist parts, or Necromunda parts.. This is really a blank sheet for you to extrapolate on, have fun :3

Well, let's see.

Its a basic guard army for the most part, with some kind weird double barrel lasgun and cloaks.

So, from a modeling standpoint you'll need your basic IG kit. From the very vague lexicanum description they sound like gangers. So maybe start with Catachan bits. Then you'd need the head. So...

The cloaks can be easily done with some green stuff. Squash it flat and glue it on.

The little shoulder armor piece can also be done with some green stuff work.

But again, if you are so inclined, you can pick up something similar from someone. I believe the Kroot kit has little armor plates that would work.

How's this so far? Helpful at all?

Double-barelled lasguns: You could just use a flamer with the two tubes, hack the end off and stick a lasgun end onto it..

There aren't enough flamers in a kit. It might be easier to buy some plastic rods and cut them to fit.

You can really do the whole thing with victoriaminiatures, it's really more about how much you want to spend.

Wargames Factory Shock Troopers are another option. Cheap, but you'd be stuck with greatcoats which the pic doesn't seem to have.

The shoulder pad is slightly more of a pain, as you'd want 50+ of them.

That is true, I'm just saying if he were to want to try a pilot mini and not want to buy shedloads of plastic rods to find out it looks a bit crappy xD

Seconding the Tox Troopers for legs/torso and even the arms work, you just need to add spikes to them. And I think the MaxMini Neoreich heads WeaponPrime linked should fit. For the lasguns, you could glue the ends of two Kroot rifles together to form the < shape of the end of the gun, and glue that to the end of a chopped off (probably Catachan) lasgun, or the Tox Trooper guns, even.
