Hey all,
Been a long time since I've posted on dakka. So what I'd like to know is everything there is about Infinity fluff. I get the general setting. I guess I'll list what I really like about the game first. I really like that it is more of a "proper sci-fi" setting in that it is not basically fantasy in space like 40k is. This game system is pretty close to "hard" sci-fi, they even talk about hacking and bio weapons which to me are an integral part of any futuristic setting. I like the mature take on what could happen to contemporary human nations and cultures and how the creators extrapolate that into things such as HaqqIslam and Yu Jing. Overall, I feel like its a much more mature system.
With my preferences being said; tell me more detail about the fluff. I want to know about nuances, interstellar travel, any cool stories form the core book, etc. I feel like I know the overall setting but not enough about the in depth details. Educate me!

Here is a basic intro video from the Company itself (although I recommend BoW's interview and questions about the fluff as well): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MI6IEHmEaNY

Thank you. What I'm getting at is like are there in universe stories that show the character of people from different factions? Kind of like stories that are in 40k codices.

Those are in the rulebooks. Infinity Core Rulebook 2nd Edition, Human Sphere and Campaign: Paradiso. Lots of fluff.

Okay. And do you guys play with the tokens? Yknow, order tokens, suppressing fire tokens? I would like to but I want to know if most players use those or not.

You need tokens/markers in some form, but they can be as cheap as printing out the tokens PDFs and cutting them up.

Micro Art Studios make some nice looking plastic tokens for all of the ones you would need but as long as both players know what they represent then you could use anything. We just use scraps of paper

I used print-offs for tokens to begin with (they happen to fit perfectly on a GW or Mantic 25mm base). After a while we got some of the official acrylic tokens from Micro Arts which are very nice, but an additional cost when you are first starting the game.
For orders you don't really need anything special, we just use coloured beads that you can get from Hobbycraft and the like (although, again you can even get official counters for those!)
