I've been playing around with this list for a while, and after some improvements and some testing I think I'm getting close to as competitive tournament list. What do you think?

Warboss is with the MANZ in Wagon 1. Big Mek with the boyz in Wagon 2. Deffdread and Grots take 3rd objective, or grots protect the lootas in the rear. Lootas do what they do.

I'm not too sure about the Dread, i was thinking of replacing him with more Lootas but I like that he is scoring. C&C appreciated!

I've had bad luck with only taking 5 Lootas. Consider taking 10 Lootas, that way you get at least 10 shots, and you can still GTG. Maybe consider bringing Kannons too. If you drop the Deff Dread and the Grots, you could free up 125pts for 5 more Lootas and 3 Kannons. This would dramatically increase your potential damage output, plus the Kannons can fire either slugs or small templates up to 36".

No you bring up an interesting point as well with the Deff dread on objectives. Sure you can take deff dreads as troops, but they are still vehicles, and vehicles cannot hold or deny objectives.

Why bring MANs at all? I'd say just bring more boys. I don't think the kff is worth it for battlewagons. Dreads can't score because they're vehicles, they're also first blood givers. Armour plates seem like a waste as well. Here's what I'd do with the same idea.

This should rip through anything if you can get into combat. Though at 1000 pts its a shame not to bring a dakkajet. Maybe take away the squig, lootas and a boy to put in the jet.

Dreads are *only* ever scoring in a dreadmob list due to the warlord traits that make them so. Deff dreads taken by a mek are not scoring, only taking up a different FoC slot.

I'd argue the opposite to the above poster, in that a KFF is amazing if it has sufficient points worth of models to protect. BW loads of boyz are expensive and easy to kill with a lucky pen, those 5+ covers are invaluable here. 5+ also applies to models in an exploding wagon, so its even more valuable with that in mind. I'd also either swap deff rollas for planks or try to get planks on it as well - they're more reliable damage and dirt cheap due to "d6 hits" and "AP-" of the rollas

Definitely though, if your going wagons then go big or go home. Three is minimum, four is better (w/ kskorcha nobz or MANz) if you can afford it. Grot Bomms make excellent fire support if FW is allowed

I've found boy blobs pretty much auto-win at 1k points, but if I were to take a wagon rush it'd be something like;

~19 Boyz, PK BP Nob [160 // 480]
Uncertain as to if shoota or slugga is better here, shoota is probably more reliable but sometimes slugga can be better in mech lists

A Kff big mek is a bare minimum of 85 points I believe. At 1000 points how many Str 9-10 guns and meltas are your opponents going to have? If the answer is lots then its best to leave the battlewagons at home. If the answer is no more than 1-2, then why hope for 5 or 6 roll to protect your boy transport? Hell you could just buy another wagon for the cost of that Mek.

I did not know that a Deff Dread taken as Troops wasn't scoring. Does the same apply to Nobs taken as Troops by a Warboss?

Where is the warlord traits that state this? I've looked through IA8 and am not seeing where it explicitly states that vehicles (or specifically Dreads) are scoring. On that note I don't see any traits in the book.

There are two but only attached to specific units:

Mek Masta - For the special character makes Dreds within a certain distance scoring.

Metal Monstas - For Meka dred makes deff dred units he joins scoring.

No, because Nobs aren't vehicles. Vehicles are *never* scoring unless specifically exempted.

Cleatus: No, the dread isn't scoring because it is a vehicle. The nobs are infantry and made a troop by the boss so they are fine for scoring.

GROOVYGUYE: An interesting point, Say I removed the Mek and the deff dread, freeing up 170 points. What would you suggest to add to this list?

Never used a trukk before but I feel it could be good for objective grabbing or throwing a couple more bodies into an assault.
