Plan would be to have a priest in the DC pods and the HQ with the marines drop 3 pods turn one 2 DC and the furioso and pray they live till turn 2 then get into assault and stay in assault the whole game and maybe if I get first blood I can get all of his troops stuck in assault and win or if he gets very unlucky and the gods or war are on the BA side I could table him (lol what a dream)

Goals of this List:
Don't worry about scoring
Tie up and beat as many of his units as possible with death from above style assault units.

What do I recommend?
Vanguard Vets. 3 units of them, so at least 15, possibly 30 of them. Tricked out with GOOD choices of special weapons.

So these guys don't have FNP and Rage and FC and fearless and relentless and all that BS, and they can't be joined by ICs (for this I recommend putting Astorath and a Sang Priest in a regular assault squad and DSing them nearby to give them the benefits of the priest) but you know what they CAN do? take as many special weapons as they want, re roll their reserves roll if they fail it, deep strike with reduced scatter AND THEN IMMEDIATELY ASSAULT. That is huge! Backed up by drop pods of DC on turn 1 and 2 that will join them in the attack? Borderline broken I'd say. Okay, not really, but lets be real, in this kind of list, you want to stop getting shot ASAP. What better way than with capable assault units that can attack straight out of reserves to tie up those nasty big guns? Even if you don't tool them up, leaving them completely bare except for Jump Packs, they can still silence something like an Ion Accelerator Riptide and his attached Buffmander or a squad of Jetbikes or something else that'll just run away in the following turn away from your poor, now footie, Death Company.

Also, Death Company have the benefits of a Sang priest built into their rules set. You don't need to spend 200 points on Sanguinary priests for them.

Agreed with the sang priest comment. Bolters on your DC also are good, because if they charge into combat, lets hope that they kill what they charge... with bolters they can lay out a good abount of shots before assaulting.

i was fairly sure chaplains and astorath could join DC units?

Also how do you have five elites in a 1850 pts list?

For BA, you can take 3 SP's as one Elite Choice.

Yep, priests are a waste with DC.
Bolter DC with 10%-20% power fists is usually my preferred setup.
With the spare points from the missing priests, up the asm squad to 10 so you can combat squad for objectives, so they aren't total lost cause games.

I like running these armies, I never expect to win, but it's always fun if you can get them into combat.
