Quick question guys- I've seen several painting articles refer to "Future", but despite many years of experience, I have no idea what this is.

I think it's just another term for Undercoat, or Primer, but am seeking clarification.

That's referring to Future Floor polish, a clear acrylic floor polish that is good for such applications as clear coating, paint thinning, homemade washes, and canopy treatments.

It's also called Kleer. It is the same thing as a gloss varnish. In my experience it works very well at settling into the crack of your models. Sometimes better than some of the commercial model varnishes. IT has a nice gloss finish to it and is a strong finish. However it does not come it matte. you would have to find a matte varnish to use after spraying future/kleer.

Nope, just mix it with Vallejo Matt Varnish or Tamyia Flat Base in a ratio that reflects the sheen you are looking for, and then apply via airbrush.

Point was it doesn't come in Matte. Period. Yes he could do that as well. I usually myself just spray some matte after the Future/Kleer. We all have our own ways of doing things and not everyone does it the same.
